Fear A' Bhata (The Boatman) voice and harp
The story I have heard about Fear A’ Bhata (The Boatman) is that it was written in the 18th century by Sìne NicFhionnlaigh from Tong, Isle of Lewis for Donald MacRae of Uig, Isle of Lewis. Sìne and Donald married shortly after she wrote the song. Although the whole thing was originally written ins Scottish Gaelic I only attempted to sing it that way in the chorus. Feel free to correct my pronunciation!

I’ve been trying to find the hammered dulcimer version of this song but can’t- what is it called? And does the title come n variants?
The only title I know for this is Song of the Bagpipers or Carol of the Bagpipers. I’m not sure what the original Italian title is - sorry!

After reading my older post I realize I am still in need knowing how to set my strings when harp is tuned in the key of Eb. Thank you for your help. PS. Contrary to what the previous posts sounds like, I'm really NOT CRAZY.
I can’t tell which order your comments came in! Were you able to figure it out? If your harp is tuned to Eb you’ll need to put up all your C E F A and B levers to play in the key of D. The lowest C should be kept down for this particular arrangement. Hope that helps!
