Trackday at Barber Motorsports Park in the 67 Mustang. Slowly this car is morphing into a capable trackcar. It's far from that point with insufficient brakes and a bad driving position but it's still a blast to drive. The fun factor comes from the fact that it's always trying to kill you. A lap in this car is anything but boring...maybe slow but not boring. Thanks for watching Here is the mic w...

The GT350 is Dead. Project 1967 Mustang Code Name...???
This is the best looking car in the world!!
This is not just mustangs aloe of cars has malfunction systems even when you turn it off it is not fully off and will send you to the tree!
This makes so much sense, here’s how I know: Where I live we have super slippery streets the ones that you can see the sun reflection. In a motorcycle you can’t pop a wheelie because it’s always slipps. so we however like to have fun sliding here and there. cars like challengers and chargers make the most fun because when we slide we don’t have consistent throttle we make throttle purges like vrom.. vrom.. vrom.. vrom while sliding not consting vroooommmm I tried to do that on my 2019 gt and noticed every time I release the throttle just to go back at it again it tries to correct itself and couldn’t achieve the slide I wanted even though the traction controll was completely off. so in short, yes as soon as you let off the throttle the car will try to correct itself.
Clearly Adam is in denial. Love the Crashtastic Stang!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is only the case with a mechanical fan and not electric fans, right?
This is a very scientific explanation of the situation. Let me explain why it takes more power with the shroud, with a more simple explanation. The radiator reduces airflow via restriction, it blocks air. So, if you force the air to travel exclusively through the restriction, with a shroud, it's going to be harder to turn the fan.
My c5 with no electronic always corrects straight when I steer and let off
Great video, and even more meaningful given the plethora of continued mustang crash videos. I think it's 2 things - everything you describe in this video, as well as inexperience. As you showed in your examples via footage you have taken, you too have experienced systems fighting you. You, however, recovered the car. Systems or no systems, the inexperienced ALWAYS overcorrect, and not having experience with power sliding or drifting, are way, way too slow to do it and undo it when needed. This is typically why you see cars begin to spin, then wildly spin the other way. That, and hitting the brakes mid correction, throwing the weight even harder...
Do you still have this car and plan on tracking it anytime soon? I would love to see more fbodies out on track. This video convinced me to add a lexan spoiler to the back of my 95 Bird trackcar. It really made a huge difference through fast corners like the esses at WGI and the back feels totally planted. Mine is easily adjustable and lays flat for street driving so my MPGs are decent.
The purpose of a shroud is to ensure than the fan pulls as much cooler outside air through the radiator as possible. Going without a shroud just ensures less air being pulled through the radiator and a lot more hot air just being stirred around in the engine compartment, leading to overheating.
It doesnt apply very well to the street cars that might lose it suddenly. That is likely more to do with summer tires in cold temps combined with a COMPLETE throttle cut that leaves the driver unable to add throttle to finess over steer. Winding up crossed up on the steering wheel and thunder fucked because your throttle was cut. As for the track, pull the dyno plug if the systems are behaving so poorly on the S550
And this is why challengers and chargers along with corvettes all handle and slide better. Lol. They inspire confidence, while a mustang tries to kill you. I say this having driven them all and owning two.
Is the exhaust stock?
Thats crazy. The shroud directly pulls air from the radiator. Your pulling air from thru the ground. Go take your home air conditioner fan shroud off and see how far you get and loss of cooling and nothing to do with power biden with your pen at 1:03. Draw a bunch of air coming up off the highway in-between the radiator. 😅 What are you trying to cool doen the earth and road while you drive or what.
Okay next question are your fuses totally pulled and does that mess up the car
So I don't know maybe I misunderstood are you saying if you pull the fuse you're killing the the system altogether is that what I got out of it let me know if I'm wrong by the way love the channel I do agree with you I believe it was attractive control that caused no problem like you said it's written in the manual may cause death don't, Fvan the cars what they're saying
How much does C clip Axles contribute to brake pad knock back? My 1997 Z28, I'm doing the same upgrades except I'm using Eradispeed+ 2 piece C6 Z06 Rotors from Baer. Also I just ordered up SKF X-Tracker wheel hubs to fight brack pad knock back on the same CTS-V Calipers you have. Now my rear setup will be different. I have a Moser 12 Bolt rear with a Detroit Trutrac posi with BOLT IN AXLES which don't rely on C-Clips. My rear brakes are stock but I have upgraded to Bear 13 inch Eradispeed+ Rotors to help with rear braking Torque. I'm hoping my stock rear brake calipers with the bolt in axles and the 2 piece rear brake rotors will help fight off the brake pad knockback. Let me know what you think.
By the way if I have to I have the rear brackets to bolt bolt on C6 Z51 brake calipers but I'll do the 14 inch C6 Baer Eradispeed+ 2 piece rotor upgrade instead of the stock size rotors. Mostly for looks but I would think the 2 piece rotors will help out with braking torque while being fairly light weight and allow the rotor to flex a little to further help fight off brake pad knock back. Thanks for Reading all this.
What size spacers you went with in fronts
So what mode will most likely lessen your chances of becoming a TH-cam crash video? What mode is launching people off the road into crowds? Seems like advance track off would give you more control of the car.
I had open headers on mine for a day or two, it was sooo loud inside the car it was crazy. It was def above noise levels to damage your hearing.
Huh. Guess i dont want one now.
Great Video and I 100% agree with you about the stability control never fully going off, Now you need to show us a video of what fuse we Need to pull???????
This is all bad news for me because I definitely want wider wheels and tires..
It's Because of all the half assed Tech they put in all new cars.. If you are like me and you are used to driving cars from the 70's 80's and 90's where we were totally in control of the car vs now where the car is doing stuff on it's own it's going to feel weird.. It's taken me months to feel this car out and get used to it.. I don't recommend taking traction control off without the stability control being off too.. I want to be the only one breaking the car, So please show me which fuse to pull for the stability control??????
The traction control is the problem.. Also when you turn it off it doesn't go completely off unless you hold the brake and the button for 7 seconds, Then it is completely off. Or you have to go into track mode and turn it off.. But he is absolutely right about it coming back on and having a mind of it's own..
Pure Music to the ears.
Ther is no mistaking the sound of a GT350. You know what they without even seeing them.
Wow, I appreciate how bmw has a button right front and center that turns all that stuff off and it stays off.
As a GT500 with the predator engine owner, the sound of the voodoo engine is incredible.
Brilliant explanation. Thanks! 🙏
Good commentary, it’s nice to have the extra horsepower but at what cost to cooling efficiency? If you’re close to overheating, the shroud will be needed.
Very well done! I’m sure these systems have saved lives but I absolutely despise these stability systems and think they have accidents and loss of control. I confess my ignorance of these systems, thanks for helping to explain how these work.
How the hell does that mustang have tc?
I love the sound of that Stang, but I’ll also admit I do enjoy driving the vet also, Had some nice hot rod Ford some nice bad boy Chevys, and a nice barracuda, I love to get behind the wheel of anything that’s got a bunch of juice but I do love the sound of that Puppy right there
315s square will fit on factory wheels ? tf?! o.O
I crashed a 2015 1LE Camaro because of exactly the same situation with stability control aggressively correcting a controllable slide. The 1LE model has significantly wider tires and stock Brembo brakes. I don’t know how to prove it, but I’m betting it has the same stability control software algorithms as a standard Camaro with less tread width and less powerful brakes.
Did you make a custom gauge cluster bezel or where did you buy it?
3 reasons mustangs crash, immaturity, inexperience, stupidity. Old men, old and new mustangs on road atlanta, leguna sega aren't crashing. The rough driving, tire burning 65yr old lady at work never wrecked.
Exhaust setup?
Over powered, under engineered
Not having driven a Mustang, but after watching yours and one other video on this matter, I am siding with the point of view that older Mustang stability control systems turn themselves back on.
It's embarrassing that thec5 is even close.
Thank you very much for very informative video brilliant and very well explained thank you from Sydney Australia 😊
This video calms me down, seriously. My car just broke down and this was Medicine
SIMPLE = Short Wheelbase - Too Much Power and rear end breaks loose - in the ditch or have an accident !
I was looking at adding LPG to one here in the UK.... but I think I'll stick with my 2002STI..... It's all analogue and the AP brakes simply overload the ABS and is stops/grips like crazy. P.S. It's very hard to drift though.....
Music to my ears ❤❤
But they do sound nice! 👍🏻
Curious as to how and where the mic was set up. Thanks for putting the audio/visual equipment list up as well.
aint nothin on my 89 ford escort 1.) 15 inch wheels with 175" width tires making it like a speed skating Disney princess on ice 2.) Square body low to ground for best reduced coefficient drag 3.)
