God bless you brother and welcome to Islam.❤❤❤ I am not sure ehy those guys you mentioned wouldn't conduct shehada with you, it's just a simple testimony in Islam that you have to do it in front of people to witness it. The Quran is only one book & in Arabic. The English versions are just translations by different people. It might have small differences depending on the translator strength in the English language. But the basic should be the same. I never read the book you mentioned, but my guess is that the author might be trying to do something rather than nothing, we ask God to give him the wisdom to review his book. Of course for you u need to find other books or you can go to any mosque & ask for recommendations....!!!! You said it right, Islam is a continuing quest for knowledge, we all strive to get more & more knowledge of our deen...happy for you to find the real truth. You need to explain some of the issues you found in the bible to give an idea to others who might be just like you not sure about some things....!!! Syay strong & keep it up.. ❤❤❤❤
