I absolutely agree with you. Having said that, to become an Olympic sport you must have consistency. When I started powerlifting in the 70's we were constantly making pitches to the IOC for a chance to put our sport in the Olympics. There were essentially 3 governing bodies in the US after the government break up of the AAU. They were the USPF, AAU, and the international governing body, IPF. Now, I am told there is an innumerable amount of federations that have their own rule book defining what powerlifting is. In my opinion this is a permanent stumbling block to making our sport an Olympic event.

@@PowerUnlimitedtheMovie Explain the swastika tattoo he had on the inside of his right forearm? He was a HA, an MC chapter that adheres to some very racist beliefs. I’ve also heard some 2nd hand stories from ppl who knew him that don’t paint him in a good light.

I didn't hear about Lee Moran from other people. He was a good friend, he managed my gyms, he and his wife were my daughter's God parents and to my son's he was their Uncle Lee. I knew him long before he was a Hell's Angel and he had that tattoo when I met him. We all have people in our lives that are more than willing to say negative things about us that don't know us. A saint he was NOT, (unlike us). Putting Lee in our videos was simply to highlight his incredible accomplishments as an athlete. We here at Power Unlimited very much appreciate your comments.

This was before Julius Maddox even competed. Scott held the raw bench record of 715lbs for 8 years until 2013

I agree with you we are getting ready to produce a sequel to our first documentary that will hopefully answer a lot of questions about where powerlifting and other strength sports originated. People will hopefully realize that the true pioneers aren't who they thought they were.

This is an old video and at the time Scott had the raw world record at 715lbs at a much lighter body weight than Julius Maddox is at today. So he was indeed the best bencher in the world at the time.

Spoto didn't break Scotts record until 2013 so again what he was saying was accurate at the time.

Yuri Gagin: Thank you for your comment. Lee did things because that is who he was. What he did in powerlifting was because that is what Lee was. Yes, he was a proud member of the Hell's Angels, however it wasn't because of his membership in the Hell's Angels that made him not intimidated. He wasn't intimidated by anything because that is who Lee was.
