Yup that sucks. Shattered my T-12 landing too flat off a 30 footer a few years ago. I agree with the screams of pain

this is in part a symptom of planning hull designs, kayaks being way too easy to boof, missing the foam pile, people being overconfident in their angle control skills, massive front rocker, and, most importantly: all the pros boofing way too high stuff for the average class 5 paddler. we aren't running medium sized waterfalls once a week, but usually once or twice a year. a mad different in experience. this waterfall is too high to boof. everything approaching 10m or higher should absolutely be plucked. its not a safe height to boof at all. not even to stomp. and if you want to stomp this height, you definitely need a lot of practice at smaller drops to dial your angles in successively, because the timing and total natural rotation changes with height. i've run this waterfall twice, and had my spraydeck implode twice. but it was super soft, digging in a perfect plug. can recommend.

One of those accidents that can happen. So sorry for Gregor. Hope he's fine. In the slo-mo, you can see nicely what went wrong. In addition to the flat landing he straightened his back in the last moment before impact and didn't stay tucked. Had he stayed tucked, his back an sacrum would probably have been fine. Maybe at the cost of a broken nose. With a flat landing from this height, something breaking in your body is more likely than not. I ran this drop in similar waterlevels around 2002 or 2003. I can remember the Impact being a lot harder than expected.
