    I believe mall owners deserve utmost appreciation. They pay big amount of real property taxes, provides employment, provides clean & spacious recreational facilities, improves quality shopping experience for filipinos & visitors. I just love walking around malls for fun & exercise. I am grateful the Philippines have world class malls indeed. Mabuhay !

    You talk about malls as if they're heaven and the only place to celebrate to. How about the fact that malls take up big parts of lands that are already in short supply and cause unnecessary traffic? Not to mention the criminally underpaid employees because of the monopoly of jobs these malls offer? FINALLY, THEY ARE NOT CULTURAL LANDMARKS.

    • @filipinoinsights
      @filipinoinsights 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@alphonsecatan2 they are cultural landmarks as these malls shaped most Filipino's life today. why? because most of what people's are in these malls.. you brought up problems without thinking why, like the traffic? yes, these malls are one of the cause of traffics but why? because of poor city planning.. most residents will flock in malls due to unplanned commercial spaces to every residential area in every cities/towns in the Philippines.. and also, my video is about "Why are there so many big malls in the Philippines?". politically driven comments like yours is not my channel is all about.. but if you want answers, like for lands, this is the reason why there are land reclamation projects but again, environmentalist will always oppose these plans.. if you cant accept that malls are cultural landmarks in the Philippines, ask yourself where do you watch movies whenever you want to see it in cinemas? where do you buy for groceries? tools? when you want to eat fancy foods like when its the day of your monthly salary where do you guys eat? have you ever hangout with your friends in malls? no? what about arcades? without analyzing these, you wouldn't realize how these malls shaped you today.. when there's no big malls like we have today, the concept of hanging out with friends and escaping hot days are very different.. i bet you didnt remember the times there are cinemas that are not part of malls before.. we dont have that kind of culture anymore.. as much as we hate it, and as much as we know the reality of the underpaid employees, we cant deny how these malls shaped our culture today.. btw, monopoly and duopoly is everywhere in Philippines.. if you want my opinion on this, our constitution is letting it and we consumers are letting it happen.. like no one is stopping these giant companies to monopolize each industries.. for example Jollibee is monopolizing the fastfood chain industry that's why they own most fast-food chains like kfc, greenwich, chowking, mang inasal, etc. Also, the duopoly of Globe and Smart as the two biggest telecoms in the country. when Sun entered the picture, we saw it changed the industry by incorporating unli call and text and yet their owners objective was to be part of pldt so they agreed to sold suns to smart.. so tell me malls are not heaven and the only place to celebrate to when we have no city planning to create leisure parks in every city, all our needs are in the malls, and one of the best places we can escape heat.. plus the problems you mentioned, where can we see the other heaven? bgc? you want all Filipinos in bgc?

    • @athenstar10
      @athenstar10 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      😂Why such a salty comment? There are some truth to it but, 1- those landowners can no longer maintain the logistics of owning a land or ran out farmers to tend the land. It's their decision to sell their property. 2. Unless you don't go malls and do your business/leisure, don't be such a hypocrite. 3. Malls have become part of our culture just Jollibee,lol. We buy our needs, pay bills, eat, fix some government documents, party with family and friends, watch local movies/concerts (which are obviously part of our culture) and even go to see a doctor when we're sick. We even practice our religion there. Malls have basically been part of our lives as Filipinos, whether you like it or not.
