The reason Greene's music is so beautiful is that he is playing fingerings that may not even be possible. That is why he misses notes. He would break his fingers if he reached them. He has pushed to reach these notes all his life and still can't reach them.

When Greene adjusts his guitar and amplifier knobs without making any difference that I can hear, I assume that he has an ear that is superhuman, able to discern notes and sounds that are beyond most people's range of perception. This is how, "by ear", he does what he does.

I'm heartbroken and elated to have only stumbled into Ted Greene's world ( and what a beautiful world it is)2 days ago. The depth and breadth of his knowledge is astounding! Paired with the love and warmth with which he allows that knowledge to come through his playing has in 2 short days changed the way I think about the instrument. Ted will be on heavy rotation for the rest of my days. I hope to learn many beautiful things from these precious recordings in the years to come.

After 10 minutes I gave up. I'll just keep on rippin any scale or shape I can. I'll NEVER be anyone of note ...These guitar wizards have much to teach, and impart, but Noone can teach inate feeling.. If yer good enough, that's good enough.. Not everyone can be Johnny Perfect... Simply enjoy the skills and virtues you are blessed with and have FUN.

He’s definitely the Bob Ross crossed with Steven Wright of guitar gurus. Genius.

Thank you very much for posting this! Much of what Ted says can be over my head/understanding but I really enjoy listening to him talk and play. After watching this, I can definitely see why so many people held him in such high regard. Not just as an educator/teacher but as a really amicable person. He just seems like a wonderful person to be around and just hang out and talk about music or play.

I love the way he puts it in term of major’s happy and minor is sad. In what prospective really🤷🏾‍♂️ Brazilians are the happiest people on the face of this planet where their common popular tunes are MINORS ✊🏿👍🏿

I laugh every time I see this guy and the way people twist themselves into knots to pretend this represents good music instruction. I wouldn’t wish this kind of “instruction” on my worst enemy.

Lowered seven, flat seven and dominant seven. It's easy to learn theory, when everything has three names. That also give three different mental associations.
