I am a 35 year Army Veteran who finally has to retire. Now what? I decided to strap on a seatbelt and get paid to see the country I spent my adult life defending. Follow me as I drive the nations highways as a commercial driver.

Red mountain pass is always sketchy. Arguably, running north to south the more dangerous direction.

Hi there sir, Would you kindly tell me where you've started and which way you took off. I am going to ride my bicycle next year from Salt Lake City to Price, UT. Just doing my research, and I thank you for this video! I've enjoyed it.

It's a bit of a haul from the house, that's for sure
Now that's cool
Chuck where is this? On top of the Grand Mesa? Riding Shotgin is still running 2-3 loads of oil a day
He obviously didn't get his own truck otherwise he would have shown us for sure
@dont9098 no, he did. Just too busy I suppose. Long days, no time to edit would be my guess. That being said, I also miss the voice and the commentary. Makes watching old ones fun. At least for me
This is near Estes Park, between twin sisters peaks and Pierson Peak
He did get his own truck. I'm not sure why he hasn't posted anything lately.

We really enjoy your videos, interesting narrative, as older vets rewarding to see another vets travels and experiences
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey see what Mike uses. Might be useful. Other than that you are doing an excellent job. Just need one a day LOL. If you can film the loading and unloading that would be also a lot of fun
You mentioned doing a bit of truck hopping in this new company but sounds like the over all theme is heavy haul or at least equipment hauling so am guessing the rear end gearing may be somewhat lower than that typical over the highway transport geared high theme. For example take this truck your driving in this video ( assuming it has not been regeared of course ) what diff ratio is listed on the door jamb sticker ?, also are they running 46000 axles ?. On another note if this company is ok with that, by all means try to capture some video of the whole unit with the load on it, even if you have to fuzz out a company name on the truck. That and loading and chaining down loads etc gives a full picture and appreciation for what your actually pulling/hauling and having to deal with.
Well said! And as trucker with modern radar showing other’s speed it’s even more frustrating. You know you are 5 mph faster when you caught them. Then they go oh no can’t let truck pass and speed up over your limiter. Just do same situation a mile down the road. Ad hills for even more fun.
I feel ya man. I got a work truck with GPS monitoring and cameras. I chug along at the speed limit while a-holes speed past at 10+ mph over. Left exits are the worst. I am forced to slow down in the passing lane. Waiting for the day someone rear ends me.
