Howdy, and welcome to my channel!
My name is Tucker, and I'm glad you stopped by.
This channel is mostly dedicated to my hobbies I enjoy. It includes quite a lot of summer & winter activities.
I was a former member of both The Spartans and The Cadets Drum & Bugle corps, and I am a life-long skier.
When I started this TH-cam channel, I just wanted to simply document everything I had done in years prior. I can happily say that it has far exceeded that in many ways!
If you like what I do and enjoy watching my videos, you should subscribe for more content. I am always looking for great ideas and suggestions while making content throughout the years.

Vail Resort - Gondola One (4K) | Ride Down
Gondola One at Vail Resort Colorado, is a 10 person gondola that services the center of Vail Resort. It was manufactured by Leitner-Poma in 2012, and replaced the Vista Bahn Express, a Doppelmayr high-speed quad. Gondola One starts from the Vail Village, and travels to the Mid-Vail lodge in the center of the resort.
_The History:_
Gondola Oneâs origins actually date back to the resort's founding in the early sixties. When Vail Resort was founded 1966, the original Gondola One was one of four chair lifts during the ski areaâs inaugural season. The first Gondola in Vailâs history was a four-person gondola system that was manufactured by Bell, and was a 2S ropeway. This gondola ran reliably for many years until 1976, when an accident was caused by a cabin that failed to pass over a tower, causing a cabin to fall to the ground killing four people. After this the gondola was heavily modified by Von Roll in 1976, and was shortened about halfway up the line, ending near where the âThe Coopâ base area is now. This lasted until 1985 when the Vista Bahn Express eventually replaced the original Gondola One.
_The Lift:_
Gondola One as it exists today, is another flagship chairlift system that continues to operate yearly at Vail. The current iteration of Gondola One is a Leitner-Poma 10 person system, with many comfortable and sustainable features. Some custom features include Sigma Diamond 10-passenger cabins, leather seats inside each cabin, and an operating speed of 6.09 meters per second (1,200 feet per minute), which makes Gondola One the fastest lift that operates at the mountain. There is also a two story cabin parking facility at the top terminal as well, which is adjacent to the Mid-Vail lodge and museum.

Canât believe they redid the chairs and got a new return terminal. The 3 leg return that Stadeli made has only 1 left, and the lift itself was dismantled years ago
The rail to the maintenance barn is now complete.

omg this show looks entertaining as hell and looks like it was a whole lotta fun to perform.
It really was an awesome season!
I'm probably thinking about moving to Colorado, and it's easy to say that because I'm thinking about moving to Colorado, I would have to replace my front wheel drive car with an All Wheel Drive car based on traction during the winter.
AWD cars are certainly a must out here. Roads are certainly rough at times, and depending on where you drive some roads are dirt and rocky! I will say that the Colorado DOT does a pretty good job at clearing up most of the main roads/highways after a winter storm. A lot of passes and streets are plowed very frequently. Excited to hear about your future!
It's nice to see a lift running in the summer with (basicially) full speed, sadly a rare sight. Interesting that they went with 5 instead of 6 m/s, especially as this gondola isn't a really short one.
Only in special circumstances is a lift built to operate at 6 mps, as it has to do with the resort preference on how many people they want to move uphill. In this case, Keystone probably felt that having a faster express quad (which operates at 5.5 mps and even has a higher capacity too) right next to the gondola would be better than having an even faster speed for River Run. Both lifts combine for an hourly capacity of 5,000 riders/hour, so speed was probably not something they needed for a lift like this.
But yes, it is nice to see a lift running faster than normal in the summer!
Summit Express must be a weekend-only lift since it's not running in this recording.
I think the Summit Quad runs more frequently in the winter, I just donât remember the hours.
Thatâs not a uni-g vision - itâs a uni-g viper

Is this a quad lift must be certainly not a 6 pack. Nice lift, I wonder if the Doppelmayr company could integrate a new modern look to the drive & return stations similar as they have for their awesome clean futuristic look to the building them selves. Just curious, how do you tell whether it's a girl or a boy? Does terminal shape have anything to do with it? Tell me if I'm being stupid
Modes of transport are considered female by default, it is a tradition that seems to come from sailors. It might be sexist but the common comment is that you have to treat 'her' right or there will be trouble.
@@tucker.84 Oh okay, interesting.
Both terminals look like they need a new paint job. Top terminal especially.
GEN 5!!!!! YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
How the f do you ride that if you are goofy?
You just let the J-Bar you pull you up the hill. Itâs a bunny hill slope, and so not a whole lot of skiers and snowboarders ride it. I only rode the lift once that day because it is a rare Hall surface lift and I wanted to have it on film.
I did a top-to-bottom on Upper Dipper, Big Dipper, and High Meadows Pass this past winter. That was fun too! Oh, and they don't call it Big Dipper for nothing.
Fifteen minute ride to the top!
Did you have the whole mountain to yourself?
This is the highest detachable six person chairlift in Colorado, surpassing Breckenridge's Kensho SuperChair in 2022!
to know that for a fact that for many years after World War 2 there was an average of 300+ drum corps in each State and now there are probably less than 100 as far as I know? The forming of DCI was the beginning of the downfall of the primary youth activity in the United States.
When you look at the evolution in both the quality and sheer scale of the productions that the corps we have today offer between "many years after World War 2" and the present-not to mention the fact that the general marching arts are very much alive and well on every level-this argument becomes pretty moot, don't you think?
You can see that the name plate on the terminal was plastered over the original logo, similar to how things are on Imperial.
This needs some double f and double b flat on that first hold and release for that shimmer like in the trumpet feature 2017. I am manifesting BD to win again with this hauntingly beautiful melody.
