Yes, before I unlocked it, I used it that way. The basic package (free the first year, $99 thereafter) can do that for you, however, it won’t show your shots on a range, it will show you a 2 dimensional representation of curve and height. You will be able to get basic numbers, but for more detailed numbers, you will need the silver at a minimum and gold to unlock the rest. You can take it to the range, hit the ball, watch the ball flight and look at your numbers on the units touchscreen. No subscription needed for that. The only issue is you’ll be using range balls, but you could use real balls in an empty field as well.

That’s why I was comparing the unlocked version and not the subscription model. I have never paid any subscription costs and only paid the unlock cost and therefore saved almost $1,100 over the GC3

No wifi issues at home. When I take it to the range, if you don’t give it enough time to set up it’s wifi signal, it won’t connect to an iPad. Apparently, this is no longer an issue as long as the unit has enough time to put out its wifi signal. I’ll be trying that this weekend. 👍

@@michaelbarkergolf389 thanks for the response! One more question. If you connect the gc3 to a laptop/pc via usb-c, does it then use the Laptops/pc’s wifi?

If you count resell value in comparison to what you paid, they should all be about the same (not including money you paid for subscriptions) However, since you’re saving $600 with an unlocked BLP vs a GC3 pre-fsx play you’ll be getting better value with the unlocked BLP.

Yes, that is true, hence why I mentioned that apples vs apples you’re saving almost $600 vs the almost $1,100

@@michaelbarkergolf389 You are solely focusing on cost and not usage. If you plan to use it to fully improve, GC3 will be the way to go as you will have all data points that even unlock version does not have. If you go to the site, they removed 3rd party software which means you will not be able to use Swing Catalyst. I may be wrong but I don't even see the unlock version anymore.

@@dubbs1923 I have the unlocked version. Besides FSX play, they have the exact same features. Third party software is compatible. As far as swing catalyst, I have not looked into it as it isn’t a feature that interests me. My BLP is listed as a GC3 with foresight ever since it was unlocked.

@@michaelbarkergolf389 You may have gotten lucky as things have changed. I sure hope you can get FSX Play at the original price that was offered. I have a feeling it will be going up in price.

@@dubbs1923 I have a feeling it will go up eventually. Sales reps had stated it was going to be included, and others were told $250. The fact that it wasn’t included and is $500 leads me to believe future prices may be going up
