All I can say is don't ever use Carolina Carports! They called wanted to move the date of delivery and set-up in just a week and a half. I live in Ohio and it was the middle of winter and the site was not even started. I told them no and they threatened that I wasn't going to get my building for quite a few months if I didn't do it when they said. We had to rush in very poor weather to get the site ready and that created a lot of problems and a lot more work in the future with the building. Then the crew showed up and absolutely none of them could speak any English whatsoever and it was very difficult to have any communication whatsoever and they were five hours late. I was paying a guy who worked for me to be there in case we needed to do anything with the site. Because they were late the first day they did not get it done so they had to come back the next day. The one person who could understand some English it took him five minutes to communicate to me that they were going to be back at 7 in the morning and it was very important that I have electricity for them. I got up at 6:30 and got everything prepped for them but they didn't show up until 11 a.m.

I've been looking at building/purchasing a 30x40. Seems like the price you got was a good deal. For those wanting to know about the cost of hiring the concrete work done, I paid the contractors/masons $3.5k for a 20x24, plus about another $1k for the company that supplied/delivered it to the site. As for insulating, I would definitely hire someone to come in and spray foam the hole thing. I would run the electrical through conduit on the inside walls, so as not to create any air gaps or thin spots in the insulation. I'm in NY, so the higher the R-Value, the better. Would probably consider using a heat pump system for temp control as that seems to be the most economical way to go.

What can you do with a building like this? Nice to have a concrete base. But no insulation. Probably leaks. Just have to pay someone to come haul it away when it rusts out in a few years and you won;t be able to take it apart due to rusted bolts you will have to cut it

What’s the deal with the extra parts they left with? Had you requested 4ft on center and they gave you 5ft instead? I keep reading about shady dealings on the installers part.
