      Those exist on some rotors, but not these. What you're seeing are the screws used to hold the rotor to the hub flange.

      Most passenger car rotors aren’t threaded. And many times when they’re threaded on trucks and SUVs, they’re filled with rust and debris. This is a lot quicker

    Good info and I had same symptom in 2013 3.8L Genesis - intermittent window operation. But here's a caution - the difference in part nos can have subtle effects! I bought a 93570-3M500A5 09 ($ 131+ on EBay, OEM packaging) and the original equipment was a 93570-3M522 PR2. Ebay motors usually is pretty accurate with their "Will this part fit your vehicle" check. And indeed the windows work fine, the mirrors adjust, and the locks SEEMED to also. But - turns out the driver door no longer can be unlocked using the REMOTE - other doors fine. The exterior door handle button also no longer unlocks. And then weirdly and annoyingly - the puddle light under the driver's side mirror STAYS ON 24/7. Short of pulling a fuse, it will NOT go off. I can only assume that these symptoms are due to a circuitry difference between the part numbers... For now I'm having to unlock the passenger door and then hit the interior unlock there, and walk around!

    I went to a shop to have them "look at" why the window switches weren't working. They charged me $100 and told me I had to pay some ungodly amount of money to replace that control panel. Doing a quick Google search I found that I could get one for a 1/4 of the price. They said "Sorry, we wont use 'cheap' parts from the Internet since we provide a warranty and we can't guarantee the quality of that part." I told them "Fine, don't warranty it." They said they can't do that" (i.e. they won't do that). So, I just picked up my car, paid them the $100 and came back home to see if I could do the repair myself. While I wasn't able to just pry the panel up like you did in your video, I took the door panel off to see if I could get to it that way. Of course I could. In the process I ended up unplugging and plugging the cables to the control module. Well, surprise surprise, apparently that's all it needed! When I put everything back together, the switches all worked perfectly. That was a few years ago, and recently I noticed the switches acting up again (e.g. I couldn't control the side view mirrors, nor the passenger side window. Not wanting to be stuck with the window down like what had happen to me before, I decided to try my trick again and sure enough, as far as I can tell, all the switches are working as expected. So, my recommendation is, first try just unplugging and plugging the control panel back in. If it works, great! If not, then at least you know how to get to the panel.

    • @BobC777
      @BobC777 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tried using my trim tools many times with no luck. Then I said "what the heck" and went after it with a butter knife and a hammer. Sure enough, it worked! Concentrate on right rear and rear.

    • @kcanrel
      @kcanrel 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BobC777 Interesting. I guess I'll have to try that method again. Taking off the door panel isn't that hard, but clearly is more time consuming than just "popping the control panel out with a butter knife," if you can do that without damaging anything. I'm guessing once you have done it the first time, the second time is easier.

    • @BobC777
      @BobC777 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kcanrel Great to hear from someone else who is battling this removal. My plastic trim tools were way too wide to get in between the switch plate and the surrounding armrest upholstry. The butter knife was thin enough so when moderately+ tapped would get down in there. There is a spring clip on the rear of the module. Some gentle prying towards the rear of the unit and it released. There are 3 connectors inside which are released more easily than most. I was thinking of using contact cleaner on them but some cleaners don't play well with plastics so I have not done that yet. I plugged & unplugged the connectors a couple of times hoping that might help. Everything worked when I put it back but only time will tell how permanent a fix this is. A new module goes for ~$665 ! I was about to go the door removal route so was pretty pleased when I got it out. I've asked my wife to pick me up a butter knife for my toolbox at a yard sale.

    • @kcanrel
      @kcanrel 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BobC777 Thanks for the info. Can you expand a little on the "some gentle prying toward the rear of the unit"? I'm confused, since I assume your inserting the knife at the rear, how do you pry towards the rear? And by "pry" are you pushing the blade "in" and then slightly rotating it? Or, pushing down on the knife handle so that the end pushed under the controller to go up? As far as this solving your problem permanently, don't count on it, unless you do something else beside just taking the connector off and back on, because that's what I do every time and it only "last" about a year before the switches stop working again. And, oddly enough, it always seems to be the side mirrors first.

    • @BobC777
      @BobC777 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kcanrel When I said "prying towards the rear" that was the AREA where I was prying - not the direction. I inserted the butter knife blade near the right rear of the switch unit. Then I gently applied pressure on the knife towards the inside (right) of the car. After the assembly started to budge I moved the knife a little (first forward, then back) and did it some more. End up with prying at the very rear as that is where it needs to release. If I get a year out of it then I'm happy to do it again,
