Abalon Winnipeg's television advertising campaign in the mid 1980's had enough impact to warrant a feature news article on CBC's 24 Hours news program. Some people loved it and others hated it. To this day many people can still remember our theme song.

Abalon Winnipeg's theme song and TV commercial from the mid 1980's created quite a stir. Some people loved it and others absolutely hated it. The bottom line is that the theme became entrenched in the minds of Winnipegers at that time. Almost anyone knew it. As campy as it was, it helped tremendously to put Abalon on the map.
I live in Asheville North Carolina. My brother shared this with me. I want you to know that I have zero desire to buy Pepsi after watching the MJ ad, but now I have a burning desire to move to Winnipeg and buy a house with foundational issues. I mean it!! Brilliant and delightful.

I grew up in northwestern ontario, and being in the same time zone we got cbc from the peg. Years later, i lived there and it was interesting to see businesses i'd seen commercials for since i was a kid. I'll never forget this one.
As soon as I heard the word Abalon (I always thought it was “Avalon”) that phone number was still in my head! That jingle worked!
