The Hub For Oldtimemusiclovers one and all!
I make videos about 78,45, and 33 rpm records (1890-1999)! Mostly 78, though. Maybe sheet music in the future?!?!
I play many musical instruments and might make some videos of that, too.
Huge Al Bowlly Fan 5+ years!
I have now started doing collaborations with other collectors, promoting their rare records that I don't have :)1

I would love a transfer for this song, its such a nice one😊
@Artorezzibpeo since there's been quite a few people asking for one I will look through my collection in the next few days and see what I can do :)
Happy New Year
"Viva la pappa col pomodoro" is more than just a song; it's a dive into the heart of Italian childhood. With its catchy melody and lyrics celebrating a simple and genuine dish, this song has accompanied generations of children and continues to resonate as an anthem of lightheartedness. Rita Pavone's unmistakable voice, combined with the genius of Lina Wertmüller and Nino Rota, has created a work that transcends time and trends. A small masterpiece that reminds us of the beauty of simple things. #VivaLaPappaColPomodoro #RitaPavone #ItalianMusic #NinoRota #LinaWertmüller #Childhood #ChildrensSongs #ItalianClassics #60s
could you perhaps provide a direct hookup recording
For some reason, this makes me want to have a latte with steamed Austrian goat milk.
Now all you need is Heartaches to complete the existential dread Al Bowlly collection.
@@Johnstone_Studios exactly hahaha!
Ah yes, Queen Victoria’s wedding.
Song starts @01:44
Nice record! It is Ukrainskyj tanietz / Украинскій танецъ by Naftule Brandwein (released as Russkyj Narodnyj Orchester) recorded in February 1923.
will there be a transfer video for this?
@studio_reboot1947 if you'd like one I can surely do it no problem :)
@@Oldtimemusicloverthank you.
a rarity of this song not being in shitty quality
Being rick rolled by an old wax cylinder nice one.😂😂😂😂😂
i actually am doubting that this is take 2 of pre-matrix 3355. i think it's prematrix 799, and probably take 1. take 10 was recently uploaded to i78s and the accompaniment is similar, though this one's playing sounds more aggressive and sounds like it's probably earlier to me. now i'm wondering if the different matrixes for the leachmans are for different accompanists...
You are a lucky fella to own this!
IS IT A REAL SOUND?
Great song!
Hugh "Lumpy' Brannum, probably better known as Mr. Green Jeans on Captain Kangaroo.
i think this is probably the zon-o-phone release. very different from the victor take online, and both known takes are the same day. this one has much better accompaniment, thanks!
😌LEST WE FORGET.⚘💖
Indeed!
I have this 78 but its no where near as clean as this one ! it Sounds Fantastic!
What is the song other side of the record
@@theforgottenone687 Lady of Spain
I like how lively Al’s voice sounds in this
According to Rainer E. Lotz this is the alternate take.
@@alternateunreleasedshellac505 very interesting. The matrix on the label I believe says take 1, though I could be wrong
@@alternateunreleasedshellac505 I'll send you a close up picture of the label I think I have
That’s pretty cool man. I love old music. I thought about buying one of these A.C. Campbell records from 1899 myself
Hello, do you have this record and would you like to sell it? Thanks. Matej from Croatia.

A catchy tune with great lyrics. Excellent Halloween choice!
This song is from 1986😂
More like 1886
Congratulations! Good prewar German discs are borderline impossible to come by for obvious reasons - you've done very well in picking up this one! I was sad to learn recently how Bowlly died, a tragic and undeserved end to arguably the country's most popular vocalist.
Whose channel is it from?
Very nice! The Beatles covered this at some point.
Yeah since I belive Harrison played the uke

@@Oldtimemusiclover Pretty sure it was for 1962 Decca audition.

Found a radio edison bell record at a record store once, didnt seem to be documented what so ever not even on discogs.amazing what you can find while trying to find a record you want to find.
FOR THE FILM VERSION, KUBRICK ASKED HIS SOUND ENGINEER TO ADD REVERBERATON TO HIS ORIGINAL COPY, TO CREATE THE SOUND YOU'D EXPECT IN A LARGE BALLROOM
Incredible!
Yeah very very lucky hahaha :D Just cleaned it and it's playing a lot better now
love this !!
This is an awesome rare and very late cylinder - with a ukulele connection as well. Incredible find!
Thoa is a brilliant transfer. Brilliant tune!
Do you know if RCA still has the original recording is on a wire and do the still have the master press copy to make more and is this one of the first records RCA pressed
Whoa... Never seen THAT label before... Sounds real good too...
Oh snap! Look how young you are! You must be the reincarnation of somebody!... Keep it up! You keep this music alive. You got a great start. Those records are PRECIOUS! ... We need younguns to preserve this history..... Hey grandma! Theres hope for the future!.....
stop with the warnings and (i dont own the record dont be mad at me" stuff. people are way too sensitive
What is that instrument you have in the back? Is it a mouth bow?
Funny enough, I dont actually know. My dad is a musician too so we have a bunch of exotic instruments in our house. I'll have to ask and get back to you about that instrument :)
It's a Barimbau (from Brazil). Very popular percussion instrument of there
@@Oldtimemusiclover Nice! I’ll be sure to Google it to read more about it
