Great words
The thing I'm struggling with is the idea that you're supposed to write early in the morning. I've tried to adjust me schedule and I just end up feeling tired all day. I feel like I do my best work crazy late at night.
Yeah, I've researched so many productivity experts, and they seem quite hyped on rising early. But the most important thing is to do what works for your natural rhythm and your creativity. The only time I've been a natural "morning person" was when I was on a trip with a significant time difference - so my body thought it was 9 or 10 am when it was only 5 or 6 am. It was a short trip, so probably I would have adapted after a bit to the daylight cycles.
Interesting. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
I definitely love watching this every year❤
Awww, yay! Stephen always remembers.
I really enjoy reading stories where the characters have gifts. And quirky is always good.
Yay! Love quirky stories.
Thanks. Good stuff.
Glad to hear it, friend!
I found this and was interested. As a new author in the speculative fiction space I am excited to hear more. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much!
Hi Janeen, This is great. I think it would also make a great podcast.
Thanks! I'm excited to dive into this more.
Good content!
Thanks so much!! Glad you found it helpful.
Prioritising my writing is something I've been thinking about a lot lately. Great conversation. I really need to read Ted's book. It's on my list.
So glad you found it helpful!
So, what would you call Star Trek? Cause there's no way that's sci-fi. Personally I'd argue that it's just fantasy but with lazers in spaceships. But I've gotten some heat for saying as much from the trekies
Technically Star Trek fits sci-fi in a lot of reader and viewer culture because they make an effort to try and be scientific, no matter how little it connects to reality. They have all the diagrams and the schematics and etc that play into the scientific aspects. And ultimately their use of the fantastical is ultimately assumed to have scientific answers. The tricky thing with identifying anything Star Trek, though, is that each series is so differently angled that they could fit into their own subgenres. And even episode by episode, the level of attempt to be scientific varies depending on the writers and the directors. So...those are a lot of variables to track.
Love the new setup and the name. You are awesome!
Thanks so much! Onward and upward, even when the path is winding.
I was disappointed by the AI statement. That aside, I'm at a place with my writing that i don't feel like I need the external motivation of NaNo right now.
That's completely legit! And well, there are seasons for all things. Sad that their questionable choices led to this--definitely a tragic arc--but that's how things go sometimes.
They lost me with their 💬 that were used to 🪮 🐴 🧒 👦. NaNo a big nope🚫
It's definitely an issue, for sure!
