Karai literally reminds me of Mikasa Ackerman. The look and hair are so similar, even their design is almost the same from the body to the face. The way they act and their cold personalities with the general public are also alike. Both are highly skilled in sword fighting. **1. Their past:** They both got attached to the person who saved them. Karai got attached to Shredder, and Mikasa got attached to Eren. **2. Their hesitation:** Both had moments of doubt. Karai struggled between doing what's right and honorable or serving Shredder. Mikasa hesitated during the Rumbling, torn between stopping Eren and saving humanity, until Armin snapped at her. **3. A parallel (though different in many ways):** Mikasa killed Eren, someone who loved her, with her own hands. Similarly, Karai stabbed Leo in the current timeline and killed him in a future one, and he's one of the people who loved Karai the most in the series. It's just like Eren and Mikasa's situation.
