Electronics Bench Upgrade
I needed an upgrade to the electronics bench. Room for more tools, more workspace and storage for accessories. Along with that came a design problem to solve. Since garage foundations at the floor are wider than the wall above it a standard 4 leg table ends up a few inches away from being flush to the wall. The question became, does a table really need four legs?
After a few weeks I had a design and materials ordered. A couple weeks later the frame was mostly complete. Over time the design evolved even more and the desktop changed from a quick solid core door to a laminate top with epoxy cleared mahogany edging. So much for a quick build. But here it is in under 5 minutes.

Tree Removal Time Lapse
มุมมอง 11K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This poor old tree started rotting inside the trunk then at some point split down the middle a few years back. It had always been dropping twigs here and there but in the past several weeks started dropping large 10 foot branches, some still hanging by their bark 30 feet up. A bit scary to walk or drive under. By the size of the 1 foot diameter rotted center of the trunk, a danger to the garage...

    How did you pop open the filter over the subwoofer speaker?

    • @Skip501
      @Skip501 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a 90 degree hook pick to pry it up. Pick sets are available at automotive stores, home stores, Amazon etc.

      @@Skip501 I just got one of these subwoofers and the screen is incredibly dirty. So I will definitely look into that, thanks!

    It's so weird how klipsch made a promedia 4.1 on top of the 5.1 and and the 2.1

    Hey man, great vid! Do you know if the 2.1 sub components are compatible with the 4.1 sub?

    What kind of bucket truck is that? Does it dump? Does it require a cdl?

    I am getting scratching sounds from my 2.1 sub woofer does it need new foam also?

  • @earlyculyer4103
    @earlyculyer4103 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    What is the clear stuff you are using to clean after you take the foam off? And are there two inside of their. I just ordered replacement foam and glue. My screens look hard to take off.

    • @Skip501
      @Skip501 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use 91% Isopropyl alcohol to dissolve the original glue, cleans up well and evaporates fairly fast. There are two speakers, one on each side. The Simply Speakers kit has foams for both and glue in the package. The grill screens come off with a hook and pick tool. I use the 90 degree hook to gently pull around the edge of the grill until it pops loose. The first time removing the grill will be the hardest, after that it snaps on and off easily.

      @@Skip501 yeah I seen that I ordered foam and glue separately came out to ten bucks. The kit was almost 20 I think I picked up the speakers for 40 bucks had to buy speaker wire and the foams were no good trying to cut corners I'm already 20-something bucks more into the system I still need two more speaker wires hopefully there's nothing else wrong I noticed a lot of scratching when I turn the volume up I hope that's not a problem.

    I just got bamboozled I brought same system from some guy Got it home and it doesn't work Also needs new foam.

    • @Skip501
      @Skip501 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Likely needs foam. If there's little to no sound there is a large resistor on one of the power supply boards that loses it's solder connection over time. It's kind of easy to see as the board is about 3 inches square with an "L" shaped angle aluminum heat sink and will have black burn mark on the circuit board. As the resistor lost it's connection it built up heat and left a mark on the board around the connection. It's OK, just re-solder the connection and if the copper trace on the board is damaged add solder to it and/or a small section of wire. There are also some repair videos on TH-cam for the Promedia amps.

    How is that system someone is selling for 50 bucks tempted to go get.

    • @Skip501
      @Skip501 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's loud, loud. 400 watts loud with as much bass as you want to dial in. Enough to rattle the windows. $50 bucks is a good deal.

    Weird question, but is there any way that you could provide me with the instruction manual for the CL-16 RGB laser? I didn't get one with mine when I bought it, and I need it in order to program my software. I'd really appreciate any help!
