Winter Catamount to Crash
Last catamount ride of the year, muddy in spots. Front tire slid out and slammed my camera into the bank. Womp womp

2024 - Oak Hills School CX Race - Day 2 - Bring on the mud!
มุมมอง 89วันที่ผ่านมา
There's something about these Oak Hills School CX Races that I love. 2 for 2 it's been rainy and muddy. Bring it on! Micah and Twighlight put on a great race. Look for this race series to grow in the near future!

Fun race, very wet, very cold, but barely any mud! Micah does a great job every year, so make sure and set your calendar reminder for next year!

2024 - Washougal CX Christmas Lights!
มุมมอง 65หลายเดือนก่อน
Best CX race of the year. Not only did we have proper CX conditions, but everyone there was wonderful, and in the spirit of fun. After listening to Scott mention many times that this was a fun race, I took the opportunity to dress as Santa and have fun with it instead of taking the race so seriously. I can't compete with those 50 guys anyway, so I relaxed and rode hard.... and what fun! 00:00 v...
2024 Cyclocross Crusade - PIR - Final race of the series
มุมมอง 523หลายเดือนก่อน
This was a great race, and in my humble opinion, not only the best of the series, but the best race I've ever done at the PIR Infield. The course layout was fantastic, competition fierce, and attendance amazing. We had almost 50 in my CAT alone, and we raced among 3 other very large CATs! Tight and twisty, lots of passing, this course was an exciting fun time. I started in the back row, and had...
2024 Cyclocross Crusade - Cascade Locks Day 2 - Costume Day!
มุมมอง 65หลายเดือนก่อน
I love this race every year. The location is great, and mud makes it even better, but the costumes are always the high point for me. So many people dressed up, and so much imagination! So many people yelling Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice! #obra #cyclocrossbike #cyclocrossrace #cyclocrosscrusade

Fun course, bumpy! I'm glad there was some mud to smooth some of it out a bit! A lot of crashes in this race... I got a lot on film! OTB near the end! I pre-rode the course on my CX bike, but the mud got jammed between the tires and the chain stays, so I switched to my Mountain bike. Those big tires sure did make it better. Jacob and I battled it out, passing each other multiple times. Great co...

Took a trip out to Cascade Locks to see what was happening with the new trail building. I only had time for one, so I rode the black. It's fun, technical, and rocky. A great trail to work on some bike handling skills! #nwta #cascadelocks

Some people would say it's First Person Camera but it looks to me more like Last Person Camera.
haha well let's say close to last person camera! i managed to finish in front of a couple! :)
ha! you were chasing me for awhile!
lol, i was trying to catch you so i could give you a little push!
Adeus
"you say goodbye, and i say hello...hello hello....don't know why you say goodbye i say hello"
lol that jackass crashing at 4:05 😂. Oh wait, that’s me…
haha, man i saw you (i think it was you) pass me at the beginning, then have chain problems, then go down later. you had to work for that finish!
We are trying to figure out if you bunny hoped the barriers and rode the steps?? The footage is so smooth it seems the answer is yes...
@@erinblenkiron9303 no to both, but only because I didn't get a good preride in!!!
It was such a crash fest out there! But a very fun course! Thanks for filming.
Love how you navigated between the two folks wrecking...caught people wiping out in front of me and cheered for me (and Aaron) mid-race! I must say, I look forward to these videos Brett!
14:26 I muttering "I'm letting Walter get away from me"
@marksather9070 haha I thought you were telling me to speed up or they would get away from me
The corn bit is equally disorienting on video!
7:36 Oops I Crashed My Bike on Oops I Crashed My Bike 😂
and almost at the start!
The entire race is just one long climb 😮
@@noahfranks984 there was a downhill part, but my battery went dead. But yeah, the race was really the climb
Good effort!
I'm still bummed you flatted, butandalso it's so fun to see the race through someone else's "eyes" - so thanks for these awesome videos and your even awesome-r sportsmanship, Brett!
i'm bummed too! i was a few seconds behind you and joel after the climb. i was planning on attacking on that last 1-2 miles of gravel road! haha. "best laid plans"! I'll catch you next time!!!
BTW, check out about 17:53. I was having a little fun with the editing on you and Joel haha
@@oopsicrashedmybikeagain that was absolutely hysterical!
Very nice! But how do you keep your battery from dying??? 😆
it only lasts 90 minutes, then it's dead. so i have a remote for longer races where i can stop and start it...though I haven't tried that yet.
Came into this video XC curious. Then I observed your consistent mid 170’s BPM (my max) on the single track descents and now I have way less curiosity! 😅
170 is barely working! Haha JK, mudslinger was tough. Maybe try silver falls. It's not as bad as mudslinger
Thanks for posting!
Nice little battle with Tim Sherry.
🤘🤘🤘
🔥🔥
Time to cat up! 👍
Those flamingo suits are interesting 🤔
Pretty sure they make you fast! Both those guys crushed me!
17:37 this is what contemplating a DNF looks like 😂
I had been meaning to stop and chat with you at the races to ask what your setup is but we never crossed paths outside a race. Can you tell me what it is you use to get all the metrics on the video and how you are doing what you are doing? Thanks
I think you’re the eX-PO’er that I chatted with, Tom. It was good to meet you.
Hi Tom, sorry for the delay. It's a lot of work the way I do it. I'm sure there are easier ways. I use an Insta360 camera and film in 360, then in edit, i reframe the video where I want it to point. It's easier if I film in 180, but then the image is too wide. Anyway, the insta360 only shoots in 29 minute shots, and auto saves and starts a new one. This causes me to lose 14 seconds of video - thus the intermission. Once I have the 2 videos, I add them to a free video editor called OpenShot, and I create a 14 second video spacer to place in. I export that as a single video - Note, all the above steps can be skipped if your camera saves as 1 single long video. Once I have a single video, I import that video into a software called Telemetry Overlay. There is a charge for this software (it's not much), but I tried some free ones, and didn't think they were as easy to use, or the gauges weren't as good. After importing the video, I can then import the .fit file from my garmin edge 530. Once I have the data and the video, I select and place which gauges I want on the screen. I have to find points in the video to sync the data to the video, then, once sure about the syncronization, I export the video. Lastly, I import the new video with the Garmin telemetry back into OpenShot and create a title/intro for the full video, and export again. (I told you there was a lot). I don't have a great GPU in my laptop, so this process takes 2-3 days to complete. Lastly, upload to TH-cam, and hope that someone watches it. Subscriptions help me know too! :) If you try, and have questions along the way, please feel free to reach out. Good Luck!
Looks way more slippery than it was in the afternoon.
Ha must have dried out. Yeah it was slick!
12:50 I really screwed you here. Sorry!
haha that's racing!
Nice.. Thats me right in front of you at the start line.
Looks like a fun ride. Place your camera in a better position and still.
I too ate a healthy helping of s**t in this event. Twice! What overlay/editing software are you using for this?
Telemetry overlay for the garmin stuff. Insta360 has some limited editing software
Nice footage! Sorry the race didn't go as planned. I dropped my chain on lap 1 and it was tough work the rest of the race.
it happens! it's a race. Gotta go with the happenings and make the best of it I reckon! sorry about the chain! that happened to me last year at Fernwood!
Thanks for posting. This was also my category and it was fun to watch!👊 The sand was evil. The grass in the shifter from your earlier crash is amazeballs. 😅
You were brave to ride the sand! I chickened out and ran every lap. I still crashed once when I failed to unclip while dismounting during the approach so that was a lose/lose. 😂
I made it all the way to the water in the practice lap, but forgot to calculate in how tired I would be racing!
Dang dude you are training WAY harder than me. 😮
If I recall you beat me last year!!!
This video gave me PTSD. Lol.
Watching the first few minutes of climbing started giving me anxiety about cross season and I had to turn it off 😂 Nice job on the win and I’ll finish watching later when I can have a beer in hand.
I was just converting my cross bike back from gravel! I'm ready to hurt! Haha
Man that was a race! There was so much that made this race interesting.
Working on my covered perspective: Coming soon!
I agree! the trail system was so good! i am going to pleasure ride silver falls now!
@@tomrousseau6154 btw, i'm pretty sure that is you and your buddy in front of me the last part of the climb, and then down catamount. i was catching you until i went down on a corner, then i couldn't catch back up!
Sweet, more Oregon XC trainer entertainment. Thanks for posting! Keep it up!
Just say NO to drugs!
