Lance in the MHFZ is different from the lance in the main series. Because it uses 2nd gen combat system, lance in HR can't counter and can't protect damage from behind. You'll need to use Heavy Guard to block damage from behind and evade+2 to dodge monster attacks. If you like guard counter, I think there is something similar, Perfect Guard. But it's difficult to unlock because it has to be unlocked from the caravan. which uses a lot of points.

The lance in the MHFZ is a defensive play. Use Hiden to block damage and reflect +3 to deal damage to monsters. Lance in Extreme style can guard to charge (3 shield vials) white charge you have a Life Powder effect, with the yellow charge you have a mega juice and with the red charge you have 50 more raw value to your weapon.

@@miogaruna380 Thanks for replying my comment, sometimes it's weird that even though I block some attack but I still die, I'm just on my way to HR5 btw :D

Some monsters' attacks are powerful enough to cause death in one hit, even with guard. You'll find them often in HR6 😂 You'll need Hiden skill and guard+2 to survive.
