    A little bit different from traditional BBC documentaries, as a French person, she may have shown a more genuine Paris, I can see more of this city's traits through her illustration, verbal or just by walking along the street, I can feel everything is in French style, um... including her accent :)

    Paris is my favorite city in the world, my connection to it goes back many mjany yeaars to my childhood in Augsburg Germany, don't ask, convoluted journey. The rue Mouftard is my favorite market street, roast chicken, potatoes, delicious fresh fruit for desert, grand feast. Sandriine moves through my favorite streets and neigborhoods, with me beside her. Her pronunciation is exquisite. Wonderful series, lovingly and beautifully done. salude Sandrine.

    Great video. Have been to Paris twice. As to the French Revolution being the world's most famous revolution, may I suggest the American Revolution? The AR had and has to this day the most global impact. OK, she's French, I am American. :-)

    • @hillcon45
      @hillcon45 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jeffrey Lockhart As a non-French and a non-AMerican I can clearly see the impacts of the French revolution, but barelly of the American one. If you think about it, the American ''revolution'' was a war of independence. The French Revolution was against the Old regimes of Europe and forwarded most European nations and societies towards modernism and new liberal ideas. The USA has have a huge impact on the world, but the AR didn't play much since the USA remained very isolated until world war 1 and world war 2.

    • @ewinternetvideos
      @ewinternetvideos 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +hillcon45 the American Revolution was the first and most successful of its time. While you can argue that the French Revolution is more famous, you can't say it was more important due in part to the fact that it wasn't terribly successful. The AR was important because it triggered revolutions all over the world. Oh and they left the winningest army in the world which is pretty damn impressive and important. Probably not as famous as the FR though, I'll give it that.

    • @giuseppenero110
      @giuseppenero110 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +hillcon45 : I think the FR could be more likened to the Russian or Chinese revolutions where the new order was established by a military dictatorship while the people had no power to elect leaders or change social policy. Yes, the AR was for independence, but it was the revolution that the French Comune Revolution failed to achieve... governance for the people, by the people. And to avoid the possibility of a dictatorship, the president is limited to two terms.

      I, as a non-American and as a non-French, heard of French Revolution many times, but not much about American revolution; even though we are not overly fond of France here. We are mostly neutral

    • @minayazdanbin2184
      @minayazdanbin2184 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      And may I say it was practically thanks to France you won that revolution? Other countries help you too. Let's not forget them. I won't say you wouldn't become independent if they didn't help you, but it will be nice if some Americans give some credit to the countries that help them (not just France), and as unrelated as it is, they don't act like they only saved other countries in the two world wars, and they always win their wars all by themselves.
