@obsidiansnow3790 well good news, not only does my program allow playback of midi files but it also allows users to connect midi keyboards and the in game piano notes get assigned to your midi keyboard 😀

@@frostipanda2737 WHAT! OMG! WHAT!!!!! Soon I get off work I will be looking into this! I got a thing running in my head from the first time 1s of seeing they have a in game piano!!!!

@gladteer873 I just did a test update where I added the ability to detect midi keyboards and assign the proper notes in game to Users midi controllers 🙂

@@frostipanda2737 For me, there is an issue where, if I use a MIDI keyboard, the pitch changes after hitting the key, so the note stays the same, and the pitch just changes afterward

​@fluxy3302 this was actually introduced with the latest once human patch, unfortunately they really messed up the piano. Whatever they did with adding that little audio que on tone switching causes a delay in shift or control to be registered. Making the note key get pressed before the modifier key. I've tried to get around it by adding hold delays etc but unfortunately it always causes issues with the rest of the song when I try to circumvent it.. right now we're waiting on a patch from Once Human themselves.

@edomovses whenever you run a third party program you always run a risk, however this program doesn't tie into or attach itself to Once Human at all so the chances of getting banned are extremely low. I also asked mods on reddit if I could release this prior to doing so and I have a message and screenshot saying they showed the devs and the devs gave it their "okay". But like always running third party programs is up to the user lol

If you still havent found it, open build menu, go to furniture, and its under the entertainment tab or something like that

@mayank12122 if you click the discord icon inside the program it'll invite you to the discord I started for this project. There users can share MIDI files and I also have a tutorial on where to get the best midi files for this application!

@OSPKeaZ run the program as administrator, without admin rights it can't listen for your F5 press when not in focus.

As I mentioned in another reply "I never suggest disabling anti-virus protection, you can add the program as an exception however. My program performs specific actions, such as manipulating key strokes and interacting with other programs, which might resemble the behavior of some types of malware and cause false positives. Some anti-virus programs may flag files based on the development tools used to create them, which can be mistaken for tools used by malware developers. In this case Python which can be (and more then likely is) used for malicious programs. Since I have not given the program any official license or signature that can also cause a lot of flags as well since it's being distributed by an "unknown publisher". In the future, I plan on resolving this. I am also willing to post the python code used publicly on the github that way it can be viewed and vouched for by other programmers. This all just my word though, I completely understand anyone who may not trust a 3rd party program or it's developer and I always encourage people to stay safe when it comes to their machines so the choice is up to the users." I am sorry about the inconvenience, I even made a post about this midi player from my government name Facebook onto the official once human page, which would be a dumb move if this did indeed contain anything malicious intent. I understand though if people are reluctant to use the program because of false flags.

Are you using Piano Midi files? More then likely you are using midi files that have numerous instruments and/or vocals translated to Midi as well. Try to get specifically Piano Only Midi files of the songs you want to play.

@@TreeTreeVR I have added a function where you can choose what track of the MIDI you want to play. Upon further investigation people were using MIDIs with full instrument tracks (vocals, guitar, drums etc.) and thats what was making the song sound horrible. Now people can play around with what track (instrument) they want to play from the MIDI and what sounds best. Update is live now!

There's plenty of ways to get Midi files, I mostly aim for piano Midi files when I'm using the program. I would just search around "how to get Piano Midi Files" and you'll find tutorials.

nevermind, seemed to just have to restart the game, it works now!

@Blindfire253 The issue is it wasn't being ran as an administrator, if it's not ran as an administrator it can't listen for the F5 or F6 keys while the game is in focus. Relaunching it and having the program open might have gotten around the requirement but to keep it from happening I'd launch it as administrator next time.

Sounds good I'll try to remember that, also does it struggle with note intensive midis? Almost every midi file I have tries to use just sounds like random notes being slammed until certain parts of the song but it works beautifully on solo notes

@Blindfire253 Yes, more intense midis will not play correctly but unfortunately this is a limitation of the in game piano itself. I have a new version coming out soon that should help a lot with playback and make songs sound much better. Also make sure you are downloading piano midis. A lot of midis will include all instruments (guitar, piano, drums etc.) And this will cause the midi to sound like a jumbled mess lol.
