1957 Merc-o-matic keyboard assembly
1957 Mercury Monterey Phaeton Coupe Merc-o-matic keyboard selector. I had a selector cable made because the old one was binding. Once we installed the new cable, the buttons were not selecting the proper gears.

Curlicue and Covid 19

This is what it's really like for "truly" small businesses during the mitigation of Covid-19. The stimulus packages have been designed to help businesses that have the most economic impact on the larger economy. So far, truly small businesses have not received financial assistance and many will not be able to weather the financial crisis yet to come. Please share this message with your local re...

2013 Ironman Tempe Arizona John Davis

A video compilation for John Davis. This is his first Ironman event in Tempe, AZ 2013. You are MY Athlete and I'm so happy I experienced this amazing accomplishment with you. I love you.
What kind of soap do you put in the water you spray on it?
I use cheap dish soap. I think the alkalinity helps open the cuticle, which is essential for the felting process.
And super fake.
My favorite are the ones that are made out of the hair growing out of my head 😬 Ya know, over many years 😉
You so messy❤️🔥🥰
can i use hair dryer
A hair dryer may overheat the dread. The steamer helps to melt the plastic at the best temperature.
This is a very helpful video! I can't put extensions in cause I shave my head due to balding issues. But I plan on ordering a decent enough wig, so I can put wool dreads on top, then buzz the back and sides of the wig so it will look like a dreadlock undercut hairstyle 🙂
Can you use them to have permanently and connect to our hair crochet connect
You can make a permanent attachment by crocheting your hair into the wool dread. You'll want to felt the dread a bit looser so you can get a .5m hook through it.
this may be a stupid question with it being a sticky mat but mine that i bought would not stop sliding back and forth on my table, did you have this problem ?
Hi Heather. Not a silly question at all. My mat begins to slide when I'm pressing to hard and it's soapy. Periodically, I rinse the soap off and start over. You can also try rolling on a towel. Put the towel on the counter and your mat on the towel. It may help.
Loved the video. Very clear instructions. Thank you! I now have synthetic dreads but they are very stiff. I want to make wool dreads for the next set, thinking those might be more flexible and better to style than these ridged ones I have now.
Thank you!!
My son and I also took care of my sister, she passed before all this mess, about 3 years now. I sympathize with you, I too am a working stylist since 86. I totally understand and commend you. Hang in there, I love your outlook and passion for our careers!
Thank you Joy! It's been a crazy ride and I hate that I had to take the EIDL. Seems pretty unfair to have to take a loan. We've had to open and close a couple times now. The health department let us work outside in August when it was 107 degrees. I won't lose my salon (because I have tremendous drive) but many have been forced to permanently close. I've managed to keep my brother safe from covid but that means my house in lockdown. Thank you for watching my video and sympathizing with my frustration.
@@shensley1992 We are in this TOGETHER! I understand! Don't give up, we'll get through this shit show!
Thanks for you videos! <3 I just ordered some syntheric hair, to try out dreading myself. <3 This is realy realy helpful!
I hope it helps. They're actually fun to make and you can get very creative with mixing colors.
@@shensley1992 yes ^^ I have watched a bunch of tutorials, and can't wait to try out dreadding. <3
Do you rinse the soap out after? Wouldn’t they get super soapy when you wash your hair
That's a super good question. After the felting is done and your dread is solid, I soak it in cold water to close the cuticle in the wool. That's how the soap gets cleared out. Then lightly wring out, reroll, and let dry.
Curlicue thank you so much.
Hey, I really love your dreads, what is your soap to water ratio what were you first spraying on the wool, and last question (maybe) lol what are you rolling them on is it a rubber mat?
Thank you so much! That is a rubber mat but it's just the shelving mats you can by at any home goods store. The mat just help the wool stay in place while your trying to roll it back and forth. It would slide too much on a counter top. Ratio is one part soap to 5 parts boiling hot water. I put that in the water bottle after it cools a tiny bit. You need the hot water and soap to open up the cuticle on the wool which helps it to felt really good.
@@shensley1992 Thank you, Yeah I have tried a towel and just doing it between my hands and it wasn't staying tight and i don't think my water was hot enough. I will go out and get some shelving mats and try again. I think I will just redo the ones I already have first lol. again love yours hope my turn out good, I bought some acid dye and I am going to try and dip dye the ends. (fingers crossed) lol
Great video, great information! Thank you
how much olive soap to water mixture is best for the spray?
I use any liquid soap. The ratio is 1:5 parts boiling hot water.
@@shensley1992 thank you 💖
Thank you 🙌 lovely and precise explanation!
Hi I really love your video. Can this be done with just plain hot water without the soap?
ADRIA TAYLOR Thank you so much. You need the soap to help open the cuticle of the wool. It's very important so that it will felt properly. I add regular dish soap after I've boiled the water (about 1/4 cup for a quart of water).
Oh OK thank you. Is there a specific soap that is needed? Or can it be any soap
And is there a way to loosen them if the get stiff?
I use regular dish soap like Dawn. I felt mine pretty tight but the get more pliable as I wear them. They just soften up over time. You can experiment and not roll one as long and see how you like it after it dries. It should be at least rolled long enough for it to felt.
What can I use if I don't have that mat?
Puddytatpurr Good morning. You can use a towel or any other surface (including countertop) that isn't too slick. If it's too slick you won't be able to get it to roll. That mat is just a roll I bought at Walmart to line the inside of a cabinet.
shensley1992 thank you for such a fast response. I know the stuff - used it in a caravan to stop crockery moving about whilst in motion. It feels slightly rubbery to the touch!
That's the stuff. It works perfectly for felting. I'm in the midst of editing another video for a synthetic/human hair dreadlock that I just installed on a client. It'll get up here by next week. One of the best looks I've done so far!
shensley1992 fab. Not sure where I can get it here, I'll go hunting! Have you done a SE dread tutorial?
Puddytatpurr I have not but I can easily put one together. Check back next week. It's super easy.
how many oz of wool do you buy for full head of dreads double Ended
Miranda Anderson Hi! I use 16 to 32 ounces depending on the length of the dreads. Remember that if you want 22-24 inch dreads and you are making double ended, you will need to make them at 48" to give room for shrinkage. At that length you will need 32 ounces of wool.
Shannon Hensley, good to know, that was my exact question. Thanks! 😙😙
The Dreadlockshop has here too a chanal. Look there, they have many videos about Dreads. (Synthetic, Wool)
do you have any idea about how to make ombre dreads? i would realy love to try
kiraanko Yes! Your ombre dreads can be done with white wool and then dip the finished dreads in die mixtures. A bit messy creating them and it takes some practice.
Shannon Hensley I see , ty
your video was very helpfull.... thank you :-)
