What's in chorus?
Love this. Old Sheff pal Dave Palf on percussion lifts it even higher!
Many thanks for this 🙌
Himno de vida ❤
Jamie. The original and ONLY bassist IMHO for The Cult. Sorry, how I feel and I was a teen and 20s in the 80s.
This performance is very beautiful!
Formação clássico The Cult ,ian ,billy ,stu ,show...
Anyone know the guitar Robin is using? Looks like a lefty offset that's been sawed with a righty neck put on it.
The guitar was custom made for Robin by Russell Fong, an "upside-down Jazzmaster with a Fernandes Sustainer installed, HSS pickup configuration"
Thank you for uploading! What a treat to watch❤
Thank you, I was too lazy to get my dvd out.
I did it for myself fundamentaly if other people like it great, no need to take the piss
@@somethingnothing...I meant that sincerely... It's easier to find on YT than to look for my dvd.
@@somethingnothing... I meant what I said... so thanks again.
Amazing orchestration by 3 guitars without synth on "Plainsong", fantastic!! And Robert's guitar tone and playing are wonderful as usual.
Mark played on Love but not this track.
I know Nigel did but he toured and recorded most of album
The mix on this one is particularly good and is accurate to what you’d hear in a live setting. Well, minus the 747 volume roar.
Back when live shows on tv were still worth your time
honestly... there are still so many good live appearances on TV shows? Conan, Colbert, etc. have had some stellar ones over last decade or two
I love this performance so much... The voice and sounds are without equal.
The original line up is always the best!! Glad to see Jamie Stewart back jamming with them!👌😎👉❤️👍🙏
Thank you!!!
Remember it. Wonderful excellent sublime 🎶🎧🎼🎼🎙️
💙
Schöne Variante, mal ohne Keys. The Cure können sowas. Liebe für Pearl!
FODA!
No other band can ever compare to the masterpiece that was the Cocteau Twins
Amazing band but this is too much. It's headache inducing. On the albums same thing happens many are way too much but then a song like "know Your Age " comes along and it's fucking beautiful.
very nice
Wow!!
Thanks for the upload ❤
1. General Aesthetic. This song in its sheer magnitude of ominousness and profundity could stand alone as a masterpiece of sublimity and tragedy, and do so without any concepts or ideation via lyric, as The Greeks would say Anoesis: no idea just pure emotion, because the music itself holds so much power of mood: but then there is Robert's voice on top of it all and who could really describe the feeling involved?! I saw this performed in 1987 for The Kiss Me tour, at The LA Forum lucked into the 9th row and from there walked up to the stage as everyone went into a trance to this song and I had to move to its gravitation; the rhythm was so hypnotic and cosmic l united with its Hindu throb on the banks of the holy Ganges River in The City Of Death; I was so overtaken I had to drive to San Diego to see it again, and again, I lucked into the front of the lodge right over the stage, it was like an opera box and the Jewish scalper said: "This is THE BEST SEAT in the house, you'll thank me when you see it, and guess what: he was FUCKIN RIGHT! and he charged me ONLY $20 over face value of the ticket, and I said "Really?!" and he said " I know you're a real fanatic, I feel it, and I want this ticket to go to someone like you who really appreciates it. Thats why I'm out here." (He had bought several tickets, and had a pair of tickets three rows back, same over-the-stage section.) Right as he said that another guy, very tall and standing behind me offered to pay him double, then triple for my ticket; but "the scalper" wouldn't do it, he got righteous over it: "Nope, it's going to this guy! He was first, and he's the biggest fan." So I had 10 airplane bottles of Stoli to smuggle in, hashplant weed, and various pills, and tried to give him a bit of everything, "A Deluxe Buffet of Blotto," because experiencing The Music Of The Gods necessitates being ripped out of one's everyday mindset; but he wouldn't take a thing, so I pressed and said: NOW LOOK! This a HOLY sacrament for a HOLY thing, this is an ECSTASY, the ec-stasis of being pulled out of your static Self, as those wild Hellenes in Eleusis and Delphi conceived 3000 years ago ---- they just didn't have electric guitars, that's where we have them BEAT!! Believe me, Kiddo, I just saw them at the LA Forum and that's why I am here. I drove 100 miles down here. You can't just sit there & see The Cure straight, just in your ho-hum everyday mind, Forget It! Fuckin Forget It. You MUST get buttered & sauced, fully & properly OUT OF YOUR MIND! --- you must. You have no choice. Do the real "ec-stasis" like the ancient Hellenes ordained, The Ecstasy Religions, they all had music with horns, lyres, and drums, poetry, and dancing frenzies, shrieking hell raising, and drink and drugs, believe me, I know exactly what I'm talking about. "What the hell are you?" he insisted on knowing. "I'm a philosophy student at UC Irvine." "Ok. Ok, I'll take some of that weed. But I don't anything to use it in." "Well I do. I have an extra pipe & a lighter. I always plan for contingencies. Here you go." "Cool. I knew that ticket had go to you." The Cure once again played one of the best shows I've seen and ended with "Fight" which was far more powerful than the studio version, the rhythm had a kind of helicopter blade chop that was intense, I heard it ringing in my head driving 100 miles all the way back home. 2.) Specific Aesthetic. This December English version differs in tonality from its American Summer cousins measurably: it was performed a few months later, and you can compare it to say the version from Santa Barbara, California and hear immediately one striking difference: the eerie background rhythm or mystic drone is both louder overall, and wilder in tone play: this feeds still further the sensation of awe and sublimity this song creates. It truly is one of the greatest pieces of music made in the 20th century and especially the live versions. This type of primitive, hypnotic rhythm and celestial drone while common in the Brahman or Hindu genres of music became used in The West with experiments by geniuses such as Maurice Ravel in France with Bolero and other works, The German Expressionists with their tone-"anarchy" and in NYC, LaMont Young and his student John Cage, who joining with Lou Reed created drone-delectations like Venus in Furs, Black Angel Deathson, Heroin, etc.

Genius music.
saw them for the first time when they played the oxford apollo in the day nowhere was released. had the eps and knew the other songs from peel sessions and bootlegs. my mate had the album recorded onto a cassette for the drive up from the south coast and heard vapour trail for the first time. was totally blown away and have seen then about another 9 times since. nowhere was the soundtrack to my formative years.
That moment, at about 2:38, absolutely wrecks me!
Una OBRA MAESTRA la escucho y me transporta a otro nivel de conciencia.
This is the best thing I've ever heard.
How does this only have 193 likes?!
The sound quality on this is phenominal
Großartig!! 😇
