Bikepacking with a Beaver
It started as a solo camping bike trip. I didn't know I would be eating dinner with an unexpected guest. A true Canadian bikepacking story.

Solo Camping In Winter
มุมมอง 572 ปีที่แล้ว
I have always been really afraid of backpacking in Winter. I tell myself things like… What if I fall asleep and freeze overnight? What if I get too cold to take care of myself, like, if my hands stop working and I can't get them warm again? What about frostbite? Are all of these thoughts just a big bag of excuses holding me back? I figured it was about time to face them.
Bikepacking the Sea to Sky Trail

What started out as a typically exciting adventure, turned into what I consider an enlightening experience I will never forget. If you want more detail, including a GPX file of our route, please check out: www.folkandwild.com/blog/2019/bikepacking-sea-to-sky
Goodbye Suunto: Moving on from my Ambit2

I made this video a long time ago but thought I should post it to TH-cam. I've never been so close to a piece of technology like my Ambit 2 GPS watch. Here's our story.
Hiking the Wonderland Trail
มุมมอง 8083 ปีที่แล้ว
In 2018, we backpacked our way around Mt. Rainier on the Wonderland Trail. We took 5 days to travel over 150 km and we saw some amazing scenery. This is one trip I would like to do again one day.
Social Distance Trail Running
มุมมอง 464 ปีที่แล้ว
These are unsettling times that can take a toll on mental health. It’s important to get outside, if possible, to help maintain balance. I understand that not everyone has this privilege, so I thought I could bring you along with me on my run. In an attempt to avoid people, I went early in the morning to a less populated area. I hope you enjoy it. Stay safe 👍🏼

The Zion Wilderness
มุมมอง 814 ปีที่แล้ว
The Zion Wilderness Traverse is a beautiful route through Zion National Park. We were dropped off by our awesome support team at the Lee Pass Trailhead off highway 15. We took La Verkin Creek Trail past all the campgrounds (number 6 was my favourite) and high canyon walls. We added on the Kolob Arch out-and-back trail to see the arch, which was neat, but maybe not too important if you're doing ...
Avalanche Mountain Adventure

Our day scrambling around on Avalanche Mountain! Edited on my phone using the GoPro Quik App.
Cathedral Lakes
มุมมอง 895 ปีที่แล้ว
This was another seriously fun day out in the mountains! Tom, Hozumi, Jeremy and I hiked up to the Cathedral Lakes, ran around the Rim Trail and back down. We avoided the majority of the rain and lightning even though we stopped for a total of 67 snack breaks. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Enderby Cliffs *Winter Edition*
มุมมอง 525 ปีที่แล้ว
A fun video of us hiking up the Enderby Cliffs in winter was a blast. It was stunning to be at the top around sunset to see the golden sunshine through frost covered trees. Note to future self: Make sure to turn image stabilization ON. haha

Hey there old friend! So, I'm doing some research on the Sea to Sky Trail that Shawn and I want to ride in September and low and behold look who I find! Great to see you still enjoying the outdoor bike life and great job on this video. The trail looks beautiful, I can't wait to go check it out. Would be great to connect for a ride again sometime.

Thank you, Denise! Ya, we had a fun trip. There were only a couple sections that were a bit tough on my gravel bike. I had a rack on the back that took quite a pounding and barely survived the trip.

Hey Oscar. There was a fair bit of ice from the parking lot up to the first lookout. I would highly recommend using some slip on micro-spikes. If there is some fresh snow on the ground you might be fine. Just take it slow and be careful. Also, remember it is harder coming down than going up so if it doesn't feel safe going up, maybe reconsider.
