Cellular Order
Hello, in this video I'll tell about such automatons like Walled Cities, Amoeba, Day and Night, Stains, Assimilation, Long Life and more. Sit/stay/lie and enjoy!
It's been a while but yesterday I've realized that I can edit videos in Blender. Before this, I was using bash scripts with high use of ffmpeg and it was such a pain! But now everything has changed. (Since I'm an experienced Blender user, it's way easier to do it in Blender, instead of learning other video editing software)

    I think there’s a few mistakes people make with these projects. First is that they waste evolution or scale, perhaps for the sake of excessive realism. Save and restore things that evolve in the future, allow for both automatic and human intervention in that regard. Second is that there’s no analysis or other secondary information or higher level structure. Eg make computational performance cost just small enough that you can have selection of world parameters by simulating different sets of parameters in series.

    The genome of an organism is very sensitive, so I expect genetic algorithms to perform poorly at evolving more complex organisms/behavior. By 'sensitive' I mean that mutations are going to have significant global effects on the phenome. For example, in the Life Engine (a similar project that can be found on TH-cam) mutations have a very localized effect on the resulting organism, so relatively complex body structure can be observed. However, this is achieved by grouping multiple cells into one organism. I don't know if it's possible to keep the "pure" cellular automata that you have while reproducing such complexity.

    • @bottlekruiser
      @bottlekruiser ปีที่แล้ว

      I think something like what happens irl could be achieved by making early genes less likely to mutate Also maybe make a gene less likely to mutate into a dissimilar outcome? e.g. grow left -> wait to be lessl ikely than grow left -> grow up
