These Quick Dubs can be applied as a single color or can be furled in dual or multiple colors to suit your needs.

Simple, easy to tie, fish-catching leech pattern. This pattern when changed to other colour variations using the Wabbit Zonker material also makes a suitable dragonfly nymph pattern. These patterns that are being called "Flies of Alberta" are intended to document fly patterns that originated from fly tiers of Alberta. We hope you enjoy the small videos that showcase these flies, offer the material list and either a bit of history or how to fish the patterns. More can be found at #fliesofalberta .

Exstreamer HD 720p
มุมมอง 864 ปีที่แล้ว
Exstreamer is a pattern that was created fall of 2018 from materials to be injected into the Semperfli lineup for 2019. This pattern somewhat took a spin from Ryan Cook Exstream Streamer and a conversation with Hans van Klinken a few years earlier were he reminded me of a chenille twist that was used on saltwater patterns. These two things inspired this pattern to be tied on #2/0 to #4 shanked ...
Euronymphing...whats the hype?
มุมมอง 2966 ปีที่แล้ว
Euronymphing - Short line style with a two fly system. Using a #6 Czech Nymph-Crazy Caddis larva style in a hot pink/orange and a small olive spider. Keep it simple and easy. Use long leaders with fine tippets of 5-7X below the in line strike indicator. Obviously a fly line is not required but a Nymphing fly line of .58 mm can be used as is suggested in competitions. Keep bottom contact by lift...

A tutorial that was used for Team Canada's preparation for the 2018 commonwealths. This was supplied in 2017 to them so as to be able to tie for the team flies a series of spider patterns that represent mayfly and caddis fly nymphs, emergers and pupa for the chalk streams of the North Country region.

North Country Spider Tutorial 2018- Team Canada
You are VERY SMART! Thanks for that.
This is a great Tom Thumb tutorial, tank you
Call it what you want but that is very different from the original pattern! Call it something else but do not disrespect the original!!
Quite interesting! I am somewhat surprised that using wide gap short shank hooks, tying bodies just to the point etc., things I figured out on my own over 56 years tying flys and fishing are the recommended methods! I guess if you do something long enough, some truths will be revealed to you! Thanks!
Excellent technique just subscribed, regards from Wales.
Extremely informative, thanks for sharing.
Great tutorial
Awesome tie Gary, nice job with the goose biot. I will spin some of these up here in Eastern Canada. Thanks for sharing all.
Great tutorial as for the recipes can you be a little more specific on what site your using United Kingdom sites is a bit broad thank you
Try Robert Smith Author of the north country fly, truly the keeper of the north country patterns, and is a local chap from the heart of where it began over 150+ years ago.
What is that pattern called so I can tie it?
Do you think it would be more effective with a jig hook?
Excellent love the background story and history - great precision tying. I am going to speculate that these flies were made with materials available in the industrial North of England - silk from the textile factories - starling etc where a common pest bird.....
This I an outstanding tutorial! I've spent a great deal of time tying, fishing and studying the history and techniques of the north country spider patterns and I still picked up some new and useful information from your video. Well done sir.
Thanks for such an informative video. I've just started tying spiders so your excellent demonstration and historical knowledge were quite inspirational. I like the Norvise too and miss the late Norm Norlanders exemplary service. I've fished BC, Ontario and Nova Scotia plus various states of the USA so have a special affinity with your part of the world. Regards from down-under in NZ.
Very informative video. Thanks
Very informative video. Thanks!
What is this Bobbin?
That has to be THE coolest way I have seen to attach eyes since a Davie McPhail video 10 years ago! And your comments about depth control - also very helpful to me. Thank you!
Thanks Gary. Just what I needed!
I have actually purchased my first silk tying threads and special hooks and a partridge cap so I can tie up these pieces of history. GREAT VIDEOS THANKS
good video but a Moorhen is not the same as a Coot ,its a different bird
Yes we know but it is the closest thing to it in North America. And will be sufficient as a replacement feather.
Nice fly plenty water with all that rain
I had great luck with this pattern down in Cardston
enjoyed this pattern for its simplicity and your efficient and clean tying technique - well done!
I learned a lot from you video. Thanks
I do lots of dirty jobs, gardening, diy jobs building etc, however I wear nitrile gloves to work in and when I’m through I wash my hands, clean my nails before I go to work as dentist. touché
great technique. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent demo. Always something g to learn, I love spider flies. :-)
Used this to tie the eyes on Dragonflies, perfect
Hi Gary, great fly, what type of bobbin are you using? Thanks
Zz😷😷😷😷😷😷🤐😷😷😷🤐😷🤐😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷
Great Fly Gary. Had great success with that pattern on Medicine Hat last week.
Smashing video, this sport is far more than catching tons of fish. Great presentation and I'll be back to pick up some more info!👌🏻
I have no idea what this is, but I like it.
With the 18/0 thread being so incredibly thin I would stick with dubbing loops rather than trying to split it.
Excellent tip and great technique for forming eyes. Do you know a supplier in the US for the foam? Thanks!
Just curious why you don’t use the rotary function of your Nor Vise?
Awesome.. nice work Gary.. I'm just moving into this stage of things.. would you suggest using something like this for ice fishing?
A close up of your set up would be a very big help. All we see here is a person casting repeatedly.
Great technique but your long, dirty fingernails are a tad distracting!
Nicole Lewis gam!😝
Got to have fingernails to tie flies.
Probably works in construction or something similar, you know those jobs that actually require you to get your hands dirty. Try working as an engineer with oil and get that from under your nails.
Great work, and very informative. Where does one get hold of the recipe list you mentioned please.
Thank you...I usually just google up recipes which I prefer to get from United Kingdom sites as I find they are typically more accurate than other sites. There are also some very good books published in the UK over the decades.
For some reason I needed to go pee while watching this video
I catch twice as many fish with 13 turns!
Amazing! Nice work Gary! Thanks for sharing...
Could you not have a cameo shirt background. Hard to focus on the video.
Are you using a norvise bobbin spool on a dr. Slick bobbin holder?
Hi Richard, I am using an older Norvise Bobbin.
Perfect technique thanx for sharing

What's with the camera
Video ends abruptly at 2:31 - where you just finished tying in the tail? I think a technical snafu? :)
