Tour De OC Origin Cycling Ride
This week's ride was supposed to be 60 miles around Orange County, CA. However, we decided to skip the rest of Portola climb and push quickly towards our coffee break at Wall Writers Coffee. It was still 53 miles roughly, and the important thing is that we made it.

CRASHED MY PINARELLO GAN BIKE
มุมมอง 4.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
On March 28, 2021, my girlfriend and I went to my home in Henderson, NV. to visit my sister and try out some local Vegas bike trails. The River Mountain Loop is a beautiful 35 mile stretch of cycling road that circles around Henderson, Lake Mead, and Boulder City near Hoover Dam. It had about 2000 ft of climb, which I thought would be manageable since I've done more in the past. Little did I kn...

Big Bear Lake Shark Loop (Inspired by Phil Gaimon)
มุมมอง 1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
My girlfriend and I decided we wanted to ride in Big Bear after watching all of Phil Gaimon's videos that he made there. We weren't fit enough to do the larger climbs, but we found this one off of his Ridewithgps profile that was supposed to be relatively flat and easy. Little did we know it was pretty scenic and fun also. You can check out Phil's TH-cam channel here: th-cam.com/users/philgaimo...

    Thank you for the video. I'm planning to ride Santiago Canyon Road southbound (Anaheim to San Clemente). Could you comment on the safety (do drivers drive excessively fast or any particular dangerous intersections)? Thanks!

    • @asianroadcyclists9520
      @asianroadcyclists9520 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's relatively safe. there is a high on ramp at the beginning near Jamboree that you have to watch out for cars, but otherwise, no intersections until you reach Lake Forest. Bike lane all the way.

    Welcome back glad to see another video! You can’t go wrong with the official GoPro chest mount if you want that sunken in cockpit view. Another good suggestion is the Pro Standard Grill Mount which is actually a mouth piece with a GoPro mount that holds the camera right under your chin. It’s great because you can take it out and use it as a handle to point the camera at whatever, and also easily stash it away in your jersey when not using it. It also gives you super stable footage because your head acts as a stabilizer. The downside is you can’t really talk while it’s in your mouth haha

    • @asianroadcyclists9520
      @asianroadcyclists9520 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've always been curious about the mouth piece mount also, but yeah, it would be hard to talk lol. There's also this magnetic snap on chest mount where you place the magnetic plate underneath your jersey and the mount would adhere to it form the outside. Have you ever heard of it?

    Only two kinds of riders, those who have crashed and those who are going to crash.

  • @jmataban
    @jmataban 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    First, you were carrying too much speed on too narrow road, then simply got fixated and ran out or pave, that chain did not dropped during but after crashing, on this vid it looked like your rear tire hit a crack on that particular road before the turn and it might have been the major reason. Let’s all learn from this incident it could’ve been worst, imagine if there’s was any other people using that road going up. Heal up and keep that head up.

    Great value for the bikes. The new 2020 Shimano 105 groupset is great. You can always upgrade the cranks to Ultegra cranks for about $200-$300. I would definitely upgrade the handlebars to carbon to reduce hand numbness from vibrations. $100 each is fair.

    If remember you did a video on the unboxing and setting up of your Pinarello Gan 105 bikes. After watching you last October 2021 I bought myself a Pinarello Gan 105 and love it, great investment. Since I live in Texas I had to pay the sales tax, but since you live in CA I am sure you are paying more than your fair share of taxes. QUESTION did you replace the 700 x 25 cc with 700x 25cc or 28 cc?
