a breath before the highest note?????????????????????????????????????????????????
Dawn Upshaw's is the benchmark. Dawn IS Susanna. Lauren is herself, not Susanna
Wow. What a voice and what a song. Both beautiful. Open throated, relaxed, free, and easy. No veins popping out on the side of her neck like you see with lots of other singers.
My gosh what a voice.
She is full of love. This is a penultimate performance and a delicious voice! Thank you.
wowww she’s fabulous
Wonderful performance! BRAVA!!!!
This is so incredible i watch this once a month
Beautiful performance!
I just discovered this singer after hearing her on the public radio show Over the Top. Her performance is so moving…cry every time I watch.
This is some georgous singing. Bel Canto at is best
WHAT a beautiful & "authentically her own" voice - wonderfully natural, beautifully cultivated. Surprised her name didn't also bring up the STUNNING recording of Poulenc's Gloria (really sublime & one of my favorites this time of year - - hearing it, I had to hear more of her!) Brava!
What I love about Lauren is that she totally has her own individual sound. So many of my generation Xers wanted to sound like Kathleen Battle or Leontyne Price. Now there is enough time and distance and a larger pool of Singers/Influencers to draw from so that younger Millenials can create their own unique Voice.
I mean, I'd kill to sound like Leontyne Price or Kathleen Battle, but short of a genie in a bottle, it's just not gonna happen for most of us 😅 better to cultivate what you have.
Such a natural and organically beautiful Voice. There is a lot of strength here in this gorgeous Woman. A lot of purpose and intention in her singing and in her person.
Very moving and irresistible and gorgeous. R.I.P. Carlisle Floyd
That was such an incredibly moving performance! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful voice. You moved me to tears and gave me goosebumps!!
Beautiful!!!
Honestly this is my favorite version ❤️ You're so talented!!
Une belle plante aux fruits acides.
You have come such a long way since our UCLA days, Lauren. Way to put in the work and let your light shine. BRAVA!
Ma'am, you had better sing your FACE!
This "person" has no talent, no musicality, no intelligence. The only reason why they let her sing, and win, is because she is black; so, this is a prime example of reverse racism. Black "people" whine and complain about racism, but they are the first to spew hate. This individual is homophobic and transphobic. How dares she.
I’m sorry, Raqueline, but you’re just plain wrong. Lauren is a world-class artist (I have performed alongside her) and is more than deserving of every bit of recognition she receives. Your racist and hateful comment speaks of your own fear and negativity. Lauren is a true artist who brings light and love into the world.
Reading your comment again, it’s pretty clear what you’re aiming for: Triggering outrage and engaging a dialogue that no side can win. I’m just going to keep on loving Lauren and standing up for her, and all my Black colleagues. That’s what actually matters.
Linda interpretação se fez entender a letra da canção em sua melodia e passou a moção
Comments on Hennie the Buzzines brought me to this page. I’m thankful! Amazing!!!!
Oh dear. Pretty lady, probably a fine voice in there, no support, middle is already a slight wobble problem. Loud, high, resonant yahoos do not make fine singing. I guess she is gone now? This was 5 years ago.
No she performs regularly internationally. Google is your friend. She would've had a full US season this year if not for Covid.
@@RyanFrenkrealme Thanks, but I was referring mostly to the way she sings and the fact that it won't last long. I don' t doubt that she is still getting some engagements; she is pretty and she is black. I do wish her luck. Trust me, unless she really learns some things, it will be gone soon.
@@josephcollins6033 yeah not convinced and i'm just saying you sound pretty racist cut and dry and also just genuinely rude to say this about a living person's voice. You can also keep your dumb opinions to yourself.
@@RyanFrenkrealme Buddy, before you spar with me you want to work on your reading skills and touch on the grammar as well. I said that she had a fine voice; technique is not about native (talent?) abilities and is often the result of bad teaching. I complimented her. The racist thing is comical now, used by idiots who do not observe and think. My opinions are based on quite a few things I won't get into here; I know about the voice and singing. You sound like a typical opera queen which always means being a "buff". Enjoy your recordings and realize that your listening skills and scientific knowledge of the human voice (and how it is used for a great art ) are slim to non-existent.
@@josephcollins6033 Nah I'm good. My reading and grammar skills are fine. I still find what you say appalling, judgemental (with shades of racism), and rude. Is that clear enough?
BLACK LIVES MATTER brought me here. 🖤
Her hair though! Just beautiful!
I met you on the radio: "From the Top", singing "Mi chamo Mimi". Wonderful singing!....... That program is also where Nadine Sierra had her start.
Just so beautiful!!!
What a gorgeous face this woman has.
Wobble.Diction imperceptible. Listen to Dorothy Maynor.
Here’s the song that she song on empire th-cam.com/video/Sc4jXYgfr3g/w-d-xo.html
No, not buying it.
It's summer but this performance gave me chills!
La Traviata is sung like operetta: miles away from what is needed there! Apart from that, lovely voice among thousands of other lovely soprano voices around.
Trained sopranos are so abundant. They are so similar it seems they are produced in factories. The same goes for classical trained males I would say.
Mss Michelle you are Good. You and Leontyne Price are the best.... Keep doing it heals inside 👌👌👌
Leontyne Price!!! Are you deaf?
Thank you empire for letting me find this majestic queen with a voice of gold😍😍😍😍😍
Just stunningly beautiful! What a voice!

Top notes are not in good place! Unstable and at times shrieky (Violetta). Needs to be corrected. Italian enunciation is poor. Agility is not top-notch either ... However, the colour of the voice is magnificent. Not ready yet.
Beautiful!
STUNNING
brava !! hug from Hungary Ildiko Cserna soprano dramatic.
