I've just known that this song was re-arranged for Zoe but it was to be included in the album 'Cast in Steel', so there's a version sung by Morten. I'm so curious to listen to the former version because I don't like Zoe's way of singing, good voice, of course, but you perceive the same feeling or mood in all the songs she sings in the album whose title I forgot (apologies), there are no vibes. My opinion.
Is it only her way of singing which you don't like? I've learnt about this collaboration a few days ago, and the main question I have is what the heck is this? What is Paul doing to himself? I've been into a-ha for 20 years and I appreciate Paul and his talent. And I always will appreciate him. I feel so sad. Why even waste the time and effort on this "project"? Just why? This poor girl... she has an interesting voice and is talented, but.... this is just useless and makes no sense
@@victoriasmalikova6229 Paul but also Magne and Morten have had individual projects in their career. So I don't think this was a waste of time. They're three artists with different personalities with their love for good music in common but they need have other experiences not only as a group. The most important thing is that then they come back together to create new songs like the ones in their latest album 'True North'.
@@annalisatramarin5517 they are 3 amazing artists. That's for sure! And that is exactly the reason why I feel sad right now. If you wanna do something on your own, you gotta do something worthy of both your time and the time of your audience. This is worthless and lacks any vibes, like you've said before. This is empty. And I feel sad for Zoe. She deserves better than that.
@@victoriasmalikova6229 I don't know the singer Zoe but she's not impressive in any songs of that album, yet Paul liked her. Anyway, the audience should consider the artist's freedom which is generally limited by many factors, i.e. marketing strategies (in the case of our A-ha often wrong), hostile labels, (in the USA they were probably boycotted), few news from media, etc. , so let them do what they think it's best for themselves. We can only enjoy their creativity and let us be 'cuddled' by the wonderful Morten's voice.
@@annalisatramarin5517 as far as I know Paul and Zoe's dad, Jummy Gnecco, are friends. And to me it looks like Paul kinda decided to kinda replace Lauren with Zoe, because Lauren can't sing. Let's just admit it. When you say that Zoe is not impressive with this songs, I agree with that. And that makes this collaboration very plain and useless. Paul can't give anything good to such young and aspiring artist. He's too solid, sucked into his own domain. All this girl got is being constantly compared to Morten, a-ha in general, and being grinded by the a-ha fandom.
i guess if you take any element of aha and make it a solo project despite who wrote the songs it will always have very big shoes to fill! it will always be good quality but would it get any 'air time' if not for aha? i dont think so despite how good it is ..the world loved aha ......so solo your knackered no matter how good the song,,,, success can be a burden sometimes x i wish i knew that pain xx
Solo career is a possibility for big musicians. Take Noel Gallagher for instance. Oasis was as big and relevant as a band can be. But both Gallaghers managed to make big and great solo careers so even hardcore fans don't wanna oasis reunion nowadays. And despite the fact that initially Noel was criticized for the element of dance and disco music in his albums, fans started digging the songs eventually, as they are really good and harmonized. In Paul's case his solo stuff are weak and plain. And frankly speaking, I don't quite get what he hoped for with this girl. A-ha fandom doesn't need stuff like this. Simple as that.
