Hey tbone. yeah mate, exactly that. Dirt capped with sand. Just like Father Fish promotes on youtube. I already had it in my minds eye, but great to have it verified by Father Fish. Is that what you attempted with your tanks?

@rikdownunda I have tried it in one of my tanks once, but it's not the best idea if you have pleco's. I have sand in all my tanks and my pleco's dig holes in the sand. Cory's are OK in sand but pleco's not so much.

ahhhh. yes. I imagine something similar happening to me. Sand is fun, but it moves way too easily for some fish and even for a decent water flow. two of my four tanks then have light gravel on top of the sand. there seems to be pro's and con's to it. i'm sure to discover. lol

@rikdownunda I have been fishkeeping for 4 years now, and i still have absolutely no clue what I'm doing. Guppies are long gone the same as the barbs. I find this hobby extremely difficult to keep going.

And I enjoyed spending 4hrs exploring. It was cold and raining but I didn't care. Just looking looking looking. walking in wetlands, creeks and beaches. Imagining, dreaming, hoping, finding, building, and creating, .

I know these things can seem like nothing to you that see them every day but I so appreciate it. I love seeing places I've never been to. Travel has always been a part of my life and world mindset. If I can't do it as easily as I once did, seeing these is the next bet thing. Those shots of the pier, especially the one underwater, were my favorite.
