    What you need to understand is how people are in Argentina before judging them. They never mentioned skin colors, races nor nothing like that. All they remark are nationalities. And the contrast with the team they actually play in. Btw, that "YOU" is in general voice, not talking about YOU (a person) in particular. And that is similar to what they do to Garnacho. A teammate who was born in Madrid but plays in Argentina. But as Garnacho is white...the story does not sell as good. Plus the french situation is curious becuse they have almost the whole team in that situation. Racists are the ones who take this to a skin color matter or they understand that of a song that never even goes close to that topic. Because it´s an idea stuck in their own troubled and rotten minds. Not about a player who is just happy and celebrating.

It's like when Cavani called "negrito" a friend of his from his country, they were talking among their own cultural codes in HIS Instagram account and the EPL punished him for that. When they are not involving an outsider where they sing, talk or interact under the codes they know since childhood there is nothing to do. Other way is actually discrimination towards someone's cultural ways.

    My friend, you are spreading a lot of misinformation about the black population in Argentina. They were never ethnically cleansed. That is a lie. The black population was about 25%, who were descendants of slaves brought by the Spanish. In 1813, Argentina was the first country in South America to make trafficking slaves from Africa illegal. In 1850, slavery was made illegal altogether. The black male population fought alongside the white population in the Paraguayan war and was given total freedom after that. Argentina embarked on a massive European immigration campaign in the late 19th century and into the 20th century. Most immigrated from Italy, followed by France, Spain, and Scotland. The black population mixed in with the Europeans, and the black race got watered down over the past three generations as there was no more immigration from Africa since 1813. This is why there are some Argentinians with brown complexions. Also, as the black population was free to go, many migrated further north to other Latin American countries. Argentina is no more racist than any other country, yes it has its problems but it never colonised, stole resources from and abused African countries like the French are doing till this day. Argentina has a particular football culture that doesn't translate into every day society. The songs they sing are called "Canticos the cancha" or Songs of the footbal pitch. Yes, they are rude; they insult other teams' fans, players etc.. However, it remains part of the fan culture and is not part of everyday society. There is a lot of hypocrisy in this Enzo situation. Look up the interview Neymar gave when they asked him why Africa hasn't won a World Cup yet. His answer was that the best players from Africa play for other nations. He specifically mentioned many French African players. I didn't see the racial outrage then. If we will apply these standards, then let's apply them to everyone.

    • @KickoffDiscussions
      @KickoffDiscussions 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I appreciate what you said and I also know what I am saying before I say it but let's put that aside. The football culture in Argentina is great and fun as many people have explained how they perceive football chants in Argentina. The context of the song is very key to the outrage and footballers needs to be careful of it. The World is bigger place to see something from just one perspective and there's room for debate. Someone said something doesn't make it right or wrong. In Enzo's case and the Argentines squad because obviously he's not the only person singing the song. Why I think he's at the center of it is that he's the one recording it. So, football culture in Argentina permits such song and its just football songs to Argentina but regardless of that they should be conscious of other people beyond the shores of Argentina because what's acceptable in Argentina may not be morally acceptable in other societies. Thanks

      @@KickoffDiscussions I agree with you, what may not be acceptable in one countries football culture may not be acceptable in another country. However I feel a double standard has been applied here. After France won the World Cup in 2018, they called Messi a midget; in 2014, the German team made fun of the Argentinean gaucho culture and the people of Argentina. In 2018 after France won the World Cup Dembele and another white French player were caught on camera making fun of Japanses people. Yes, they had to apologise, but there was not the moral courage there is now. Also, I do need to challenge you again on what you said about how the black population were treated in Argentina. Could you show me your sources? Here is a good place for you to start. As you will see, compared to most countries around the world, the black experience in Argentina was not met with ethnic cleansing and killings. www.oxfordbibliographies.com/display/document/obo-9780199766581/obo-9780199766581-0157.xml

      @@blacksmoke681 I appreciate your time and response. There's something we called systemic racism. It embedded in every organization of the society whereby some group of people do not have access to basic needs like education, healthcare, even a justice. it happens in a more subtle way. That's what France is using even in African countries where they have been systematically stealing and exploiting their resources but on the surface it'll look like they're the good people. Concerning what I said, here's is a source out of what I saw and read www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/black-genocide-true-history-whitening-203000401.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAHEx8DhgzgLpaSoMzmoi6yQSQRVc303yQm_j1zrEd-EYF8FJesyvAPMUM15E7RykHKe4KTHHw-K-XZ8TDkV1HBfnP0cgH5-DW-byYIWWCLWdR-YBou1RHSvyeUwJ_Eq1r7kweX0hXTSf2lZWm-0MCgbktxdzStfpKwFmpRtqARkS We cannot sweep things under the carpet anymore because this is a modern world and we need to have cohesion within our societies rather than focusing on things that don't matter to human existence. This systemic racism also happened in US decades ago before the black population fought and someone eventually listened. So, we should look at other perspectives on this issues. Hi, I'm from Argentina. In Enzo's case, I will use the example of the word ne gr o (I don't know why TH-cam seems to censor me). I can go to the U.S. and make the mistake of using that word to call a person of that color, maybe because of the habit of using it here in Argentina (where it is used affectionately), it escapes me. On the other side, they have the option of getting instantly offended and start insulting me or hitting me, and call the police to put me in jail for being a racist, or ask me and try to understand why that word slipped out. What they are doing in Enzo's case is acting like a witch-hunting mob, without even setting out to understand the different social and cultural context. That strikes me as far more evil than what Enzo did, and does nothing to true racism.

    • @lugarci1
      @lugarci1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And why that type of chants have been culturally allowed in stadiums? Because it is the product of the vulgar man (and it has permeated to other strata, who understand what it is all about), it is one more form of entertainment in the show, to see who can come up with the most witty offensive lyrics and the catchiest song. To want to censor this is like wanting to censor dark humor. In stadiums we know how to differentiate this from going for a fight, physical violence. Will this change as Argentina's economic situation improves and the population becomes more educated? Sure, and I hope so. Educated people find other forms of entertainment more sophisticated than playing to see who can make the most offensive insult. But this is what it is for the moment, and for those who have been to a stadium, it must have brought a smile to their faces, and they know that it is part of the show. From the outside, some moralist may want to come and point the finger, but again, this is like if they want to come and censor the word ne gr or (again, so that TH-cam does not censor me) in Argentina. They are different cultural contexts and different societies, which have experienced different things. I wouldn't go to the US and use that word as I do here, but they can't expect me not to use it here either, that would be crazy. It's the same with all this chanting on the field. Am I defending what Enzo did? No, it is not an appropriate song to sing in a stadium, nor in front of an audience, and especially if you are a player of the national team and it can reach France, where they will feel offended (and rightly so) and interpret it differently. That's why nobody in Argentina sings it here (or maybe some small random group), and also because there is no such rivalry with France, even though after the World Cup final there will surely be more rivalry. But now, the song has become more known because of this, which is pretty bad. Having said that, what else can Enzo do, but to make an apology, after such a silly mistake? His career at Chelsea is surely over now, but there isn't too much else he can do. He will have to pay the price of making this stupid mistake. But does that turn him into a racist? Absolutely not!, from the perspetive of the Argentinian football culture, it's just a silly mistake. And if the media wouldn't had noticed it, it would had rapidly faded away, and the song forgotten in the dark corners of Argentinian football chants, that it seems that was invented by a small group of young guys, that sang it on live TV during the 2022 World Cup while the reporter let them finnish out of curiosity, and was saying: "Noooo, noooo, censored".

      Wow! Thank for taking your time to provide comprehensive perspective on this issue. I have had an Argentine explain this to me yesterday as well and I now understand where the while banter came from. The person made me understand as you've also note that banter in Argentina is just part of football and no special meaning was derived from it aside just enjoying the moments. In Enzo's case, I hope there's redemption for him because thats how they throw shades where he comes from. If we all understand this i think it'll pass like it never happened and i truly believe that he has learnt his lessons that what's acceptable in a society may be offensive in another society. @@KickoffDiscussions No problem brother! Sorry for the delay in my answer. Yes, in Enzo's and other players case, they probably just started singing all the songs they knew and have heard from the fans, that's how tipically here players celebrate, specially after a meaningful win. Having said that, as I said, it's not that we consider that Enzo didn't do anything wrong, obviously that's a "forbidden song", as it can be really offensive to the other side, if they hear it. From our side is something like "Hey, France is getting all its players from Africa" (and there is a lot of respect towards African football here, as we played many tough African teams over the years, and in fact, one of my favourite players is Okocha, because of him when I player Fifa 2001 I choosed PSG), but of course, it later insults Mbappe (as is typical here towards main players, even Messi when he lost the finals in a row, where people would say things like "European dwarf hormone-treated"), and for me, that's really the offensive part. That's why the chants when our national team play are completely different, and mainly only focused on supporting our team, to avoid these cultural clashes. The guys that invented the lyrics were just kids and ignorants about the problematic of inmigrants in Europe at the moment, and probably just fooling around. And sorry, but I don't have any social media account other than TH-cam, I'm very antisocial and I have a very strong mandate of not making my existence known, lol. TH-cam feed gave me your video as suggestion after I commented on another video related to this, and I found super interesting to listen your perspective. Good luck with your channel! This song has nothing to do with racism. Its against Mbappe for his attacks on SouthAmerican football, and against France for using foreigners, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay are proud of not using foreigners, no matter they are black, white or yellow, etc. Same in Rugby. If you were born in Argentina or your parents are Argies, (Higuain, Garnacho) but not a brazilian , or a kiwi or any other living here. But I agree its ofensive for other cultures. The chants here between teams fans are much much worse . Like in Italia, Milan, Juve fans to Napoli fans, Vesubio wash them with fire!!!

    It's amazing that one of the most racist colonialist countries in the world feels so offended by the truth. The song just points out to the fact that most of their talent was born in the countries that France has kept under colonial domination for the longest time. This is just another example of an imperialist nation trying to discipline another from the impoverish south. Get over it France! you lost the World Cup and there's nothing you can do about it!!!! It's really funny how every other country see this as a big deal, you know why we don't take those chants seriously? Because we DON'T have racism the way you all have, you know is something more in other countries cause you have very racist people and you KNOW there are a few people who actually think those things, but we already know here it's just to make the other team angry, it's 100% a bad song and distasteful , but to call him racist is just taking it of proportion. We are a country with one of the highest mixed races in the world, we literally don't care about race. If the discussion it's about we should be allowed to sing something like that, I'm totally on board for the discussion, it's something that maybe should be adressed and talked about, but just picking this song? after all this years?just after argentina won? such an interesting time to take this out. Some people looks like just found out about soccer, because there is no way they didn't heard something like that before. Our big rival is Brasil, we allways mock each other in songs, the things they sing about us are WAY worst sometimes, but we are not stupid, we know it's just futbol, we know they only do that to taunt us, we know they not necessarily think that way. Again...this is a problem for other countries, I get werever this people live, have to coexist with racist people and it's sad, but we don't feel the same experience, maybe you can encounter a few weird ones in your life, but we mostly don't have that problem at all, so we just laugh at it. We can talk about been more careful about what shoud be permited to song in matches or by the players all you want, but hand picking a song and one player for something that is a thing in soccer chants in general its just crazy. I get why this is a sensitive topic to other countries and Enzo did the right thing apologizing, but just like that, try to comprehend why this wasn't seem as racist here, if our futbol culture were chants are usually that crazy, it was just a song to piss someone off. In any other context people would'be been angry with someone saying that.

    Stop crying, its just a stupid football song. The only reason we have no black people here is that we set free the spanish slaves like 200 years ago and the mix breeding did the rest because segregationism was abolished 2 centuries ago, we have no getthos here, no black culture nor white culture, anybody fucks with anybody. After the truly massive italian and spanish migration during the world wars argentitians became even whiter, everybody here has european grandparents or some type of close ascendant. My grandfather was italian he married my grandmother who had native and african roots, the other branch of my family is spanish immigrants crossed with criollos. My genepool come from a blender, brown skin, white features and im yet to found any argentine who truly cares about race. We use race, religion, disabilities, diseases and nationality as insults and taunts since we are born, not saying its ok just giving context about the culture. Argentina is kinda liberal progressive sweetdream if you look closer, this is part of its demise because is supported with taxes on a poor population. But maybe you do not belive me, then you can come here and see it yourself, no visa required, stay all the time you want, free borders, even free high education and medical attention for foreigners, the average argentinian will try to integrate you to his friends group and you can have brunettes, blondes, any colour you like...
