Forklift Fail
Built a set of quick attachment pallet forks for my Kubota tractor, used a quick attachment plate from Vevor, used forklift cage, and a set of forks from my junk pile, bolt on and some welding...the cage fell off during filming lol... I'm sure will be fine when everything is bolted together... thanks for watching and commenting there eh!

Plowing Cabin Road
มุมมอง 439วันที่ผ่านมา
Plowing cabin road with my OC4 Oliver Crawler dozer, (mentioned in the video about the name plate 42 is the width of the tracks not the blades lol...) it's approximately 1 kilometer one way to the cabin site. Thanks for watching there eh!
Splitting Firewood
มุมมอง 46914 วันที่ผ่านมา
Today, splitting some firewood for next year, using the PTO on my Kubota B2650 running just under 2000 RPM, cycle time on splitts about 10 seconds not too bad for an old machine... (I did not build this machine and I do not recommend anyone to copy this method of building a homemade wood splitter this way) thanks for watching there eh!
Windfall Recovery
มุมมอง 2.1K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Worked on salvaging several 12ft long black spruce logs, I will mill them up in rough 1" boards for flooring and roofing materials for the offgrid log cabin, thanks for watching please subscribe and comment there eh!
Buzzsawing
มุมมอง 187หลายเดือนก่อน
Putting the buzzsaw to work, what a difference this make for cutting slab and small firewood rounds, not having to bend down as much in the future I will setup a side table to one side and a empty trailer on the other side. ( I did not build this machine this way and I don't recommend anyone build one or use one this is just how I do it) Thanks for watching there eh!
Dropping Trees with Kubota
มุมมอง 155หลายเดือนก่อน
Used B2650 Kubota tractor today to drop a dozen hardwood trees surrounding the food plot they have been shading my apple trees, it takes longer obviously to do it this way but want to remove the stups at the same time so I can bushhog the food plot easier... thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
Pond, Bears, Firewood
มุมมอง 203หลายเดือนก่อน
Bit of a mix bag this video, had the move the tractor, check water level in pond, and access this season's bear damage to apple trees, and gearing up for next years firewood, thanks for watching there eh!
Hi Denis. My background is lift trucks (forklifts) and the piece the forks are mounted to with the notches on top is called a carriage. Usually, there are fork latch pins on the top of the forks that keep the forks from moving side-to-side. Positioning the forks so they are equal side-to-side is important for weight distribution to avoid a lateral tipover. The fork height (horizontal piece) should be no higher than the centre of the front axle for lateral stability when traveling. The fork capacity is determined by their width and thickness. Any lift truck dealer could tell you their capacity just with those measurements. Where they are used, you might want to use a rafter square to make sure the forks are not bent down. Anything you pick up, the forks should be inserted 2/3 to 3/4 of the way in what you're picking up to ensure a load won't fall off forward. Very best to you. I used to tell people, forks are like people. Once they lose their temper, they get thrown out. (don't do any welding around them).
Thanks for the information, very helpful!
You are smart to figure that out. So cool!!
Ah, sis, nice to hear from you... how the heat treating you... thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
That turned out great! You will get use out of those. Nice work 😊
How's she goin'? This is a nice mod Denis but the fork frame needs to be bolted to the quick attach plate from Vevor. But after that it should smooth sailing!! Well thought out! Take 'er easy!!
Yessir for the video. I honestly didn't think it was going to fall off during filming, lol... so, for the sake of editing, I thought I would just continue rolling with it 😂 thanks for watching and commenting
Hello Denis! Playing catchup on videos! Hope you're staying warm!
Once you get it all bolted and secured it should work well. 😊
Yessir, it's just a little "tweak" away from working like a champ.
Heck yeah, if it weren't for homemade stuff I wouldn't have anything to do on my channel !! LOL There's nothing wrong with your splitter at all. Like mine, it doesn't perform like a $20,000 Eastonmade processor, but we don't care about production to make a living. We just wanna keep our buns warm in cold weather....
I hear ya... I think the old rusty stuff is awesome... I was thinking of selling this splitter when my new one shows up, but now I'm thinking of keeping it as a backup... as always, Wendell, thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
Heck man, that little guy peels it off the road like a pro !!
Yup, she works well... I have to adjust the carb open a bit on the main jet, give it a bit more fuel... thanks for watching and commenting there eh! I really appreciate it...
The most fun I ever had as a child was going to visit my mother’s family in Port aux Basques for a month. Hope I get to go back someday.
Yessir, glad to hear that where are u living now there eh!
@ Southern Ontario, it’s not as bad as it sounds lol
Beast lol
Rusty iron lol...
That’s perfect for clearing the road 👍
She's a doll!
Nice to have ways to get in no matter the weather conditions
Yessir, that's for sure there eh!
42 is the center to center of track with in inch.
Yeah, in the video I miss spoke, I got all tongue tied, lol... I did make that change in the description. Thanks for bringing it up there eh!
Cool machine ! Man that would push hard if there is ever a lot of snow eh! Great job thanks for sharing
Yessir it is really fun to play with... thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
Great little dozer there!
Thanks, Derek,I think so... I have way too much money into it, tho... I will have to keep it forever, lol... thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
That looks like it's a lot of fun
Not bad can be little rough ride lol..
How's she goin'? Nice going Denis. That Oliver will sure plow snow. No stopping you now. Thanks for posting. Take 'er easy!
@GrampiesWorkshop yessir for an older machine does work good 👍 like running the old stuff... thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
That dozer works awesome, nice to have the road plowed😊
Yessir, makes it so much easier to get around!👍 up there eh!
👍
Great idea 😊
You're gonna make giant S'mores and transport them to Paul Bunyan's mouth?🤣
Hahaha, good idea there eh!
That splitter works well. The 1165v will change the whole dynamic. I love that buzzsaw!
Yessir the buzzsaw work well... going to be a game changer for slab wood forsure.... thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
I love the home made stuff because it proves that those who do the work do the learning and knowledge 😊😊😊
Yessir you got that right!
It’s not equipment, it’s will to prove you can AND you will make it happen 😊😊😊
Shingle bundles on the roof?
Yessir would work for that also. Thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
How's she goin'? I like the splitters like this that have there own hydraulic system and you just need the tractor PTO to run it. This old splitter does a fine job. Take 'er easy!!
Yessir I was surprised I've had it sitting in the woods for about 7 years. I hooked it up and ran no problem there eh! Thanks for watching and commenting...
wow that works great !!!rugged build for sure
@sparkys506adventures4 yessir, the old timers could enfineer and fabricate some wicked stuff for sure there eh!
Let it rip, nice pile you got there
@DIYVariety yessir, it's coming along. Finally, may get ahead on firewood for a change. Thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
Automatic back scratcher for a giraffe.
Hahaha, good idea there eh!
Splitting is so satisfying! We just ordered a new Splitfire. Can't wait to get it. We needed a log lifter!
Haha, same here. Mine is 18 to 19 weeks for delivery, lol... I just want to be like the cool kids😂
@denislosieroutdoors lol they told us 3-4 weeks! We can pickup ours
The 1165 is gonna change your world buddy 😊
Better then swinging the ax for sure
That is so true 👍
Great for a conveyor for your fire wood. Save you some steps filling up the truck
You bet, makes it much easier there eh!
Wood hucking into a trailer?
😂 yessir good guess there eh!
Oh ya man ! I’m guessing firewood conveyor
You are a smart one! 👍
I love splitting work, that old set up shows you the ingenuity of the old farmers/homesteaders.
Yessir you got that right... I don't know how they figured it out I think it's so cool, thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
You have a good set up😊
Thanks there eh! 👍
Cool looking machine 👍, curious what you will use it for 😊
You bet, there eh! You'll have to wait and see!
Hey Denis, great video but you might want to put a 16" bar and a measuring tail on your saw, much safer and will fall any trees we have and you won't need a measuring tape. I also have a bandsaw mill, tractor, and a very similar set up.
Thanks for the info there eh! Where abouts are u located?
@denislosieroutdoors I'm in the St Martins area, I was thinking we had worked together at IOL
@charlieellis9673 yessir... Are you still there?
Great work! An old-timer friend of mine burns every single sick from the tree, limbwood burns nice. His forest is beautiful and clean. I joke with him that his woodlot looks like a campground😁
You bet, limb wood makes for a nice hot fire! 😄
Just about to give Milling a Go. Wish me luck
That's awesome there eh! What brand mill u have
Good!
Great little tractor
Yessir it's small but mighty lol... thanks for watching and commenting there, eh Cindy.
I didn't know limb wood was good to burn. I use my truck to drag trees. Got three tow ropes stuck together in the trunk. Haa😅
Yessir does burn hot...
Never saw skidding a log beside the tractor like that, pretty slick actually. 👍
Yessir Russell, I have to make it work with what I have, lol... someday, I will upgrade to a power trailer hahaha 😆 thanks for watching and commenting there eh!
At least you can get out and get out in the bush here in ontario its icy underneath with enough snow to make it miserable and no enough to snomobile 🤬🤬
Yessir that's to bad... the winters have been unbelievably warm for us here there eh! Thanks for watching
Cool stuff
