Being rejected and disappointed by and in the world is an inevitable portion for a child of God. Jesus said, "Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy". And during this course one thing is required of us, a lifestyle of prayer. Incessant and earnest praying. The one discipline taught by the Master was 'How to Pray'.
Prayer is the language of the heart, and thus the condition and attitude of our heart determines the course of our prayer. Prayer therefore is not a mere lip-service, but a heartfelt output. And that is the prayer in the will of God, that will see the hand of God in display! Blessing is seen in prayers that come from dire and desperate 'need'. Needy hearts, birth prayers that result in divine intervention. A blessed prayer is one which shows our dependency on God alone. A prayer, that comes out of the realisation God alone is good (the One who is good, because He is good),perfect, wise, and the problem-solver.
Do we understand the essence and vitality of prayer? The posture and attitude of prayer? Are we certain even in our insufficient and ignorant prayers, He is merciful and wise enough to give us only that which is good? The lingering question while we wait for our prayers to be answered is, "Do we own a humble and receiving heart? The faithful prayer-answering God is still the same, the God of our forefathers remains unchanged, and so are His ways and His promises.
