Amazing
VERY 👍NICE documentary 🎥 video. Many thanks
I believe the NBC coverage that year was hosted by Lorne Greene and Betty White
1964, I have been there at Marineland! Exciting to see the footage of my early childhood years! :) 🐳🦭🐋🐟🐬🐢🦩🦜🐊
L'insouciance...tout ce qui manque aujourd'hui
The Wonders that the Sprocket Holds.
Very cool. That 707 was F-BHSX. I flew on -BHSY from LAX-ORY in 1973. Brings back memories from the Golden Age of Aviation.
Que disait Truffaut?,te regarder France est une joie ,une joie et une souffrance !
Good thing we all know geography here and gets that the name of the place is "Nice" and that France is not "nice".
RIP to these people. Doubt any are still around today.
Air travel used to be much more exclusive.
707 was a Iconic plane.
No crazy Karen throwing a tantrum because her peanuts weren't served on time, and no deplaning everyone...
It is May 3-16 1963
I remember flying across the Atlantic ( and back) in a 707 when I was a boy, in 1966
Lots of spotters on the visitors' terrace at Orly Airport. Innocent pleasure lost forever. 😢 This golden age lasted for less than fifteen years in the history of mankind.
Those poor Bears. Arguably the most repellent zoo ever.
Thanks for sharing.
Sweet but also rather funny, those 2 old aunties look like they just boarded and then disembarked at the same airport for the sake of the film, and honestly, did Air France really have such a boring tail livery?
Flying is certainly different now.Nice to see the observation platforms.Nice nostalgic video 👍!
Lovely video that captures the simpler yet elegant time of flying. The Caravelle and 707 were both beautiful aircraft. Thanks for sharing!
No trakkie bottoms or trainers, no tats, piercings or purple hair, no drunks of hen parties, its a different world now with cheap flights for everyone. A lovely film of a world gone by.
People used to have a lot more self-respect and self-awareness.
The archetypal French grand-mère first up the steps at the beginning there!
Golden age of travel 😊
Any chance you have footage of the Oklahoma! float? My grandfather was on it!
That’s the place l remember.
Thank you so much for sharing ! Reminds me of my first long haul flight in a 707.
707 ❤❤
Quel plasir❤
Wonderful to see! Even given the advances in aviation design/technology in the decades since 1963, the 707 is still a beautiful plane. And as has been pointed out, there was a time when people really did get dressed up to fly. Interesting, too, to compare the three airports as they were then to what they are now (just as a point of information, at that time, New York's international airport was called Idlewild). Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
The 707 was the beautiful template that all commercial jets have followed, yet none have surpassed. I love the 747, but the 707 was set the mold.
@@brmnyc Well-put. There is a wonderful clip here on TH-cam in which crews - both flight deck and cabin - from BOAC reminisce about their experiences with the 707 and they rave about it.
Bel avion 707!
Ma jeunesse
Beautiful video and lovely soundtrack !👍👍👋
A long time ago, around 1947 or 48, my grandparents decided they needed a vacation in Mexico. So they drove from Brooklyn NY to ? Mexico. And photographed the entire trip on 8mm film. Grandpa was a little tight with his money, and I mean he documented EVERYTHING. It has been a standing joke in the family that no one has been able to more than a quarter of the way through the first of his 8, 6 inch reels of 8mm film. The film induces nausea very rapidly in everyone who watches. Very much like this documentary. I still have the films the projector died decades ago. Someday I'll try to have them transferred to digital media, for historical purposes.
The world was civilized, once.
It will be again. Trump is back 😁

The glamorous age of air travel. Everyone smartly dressed, no oversized cabin bags and carry-on meals.
No oversized cabin bag? I would call the bag/suitcase at 1:53 more than oversized. And that's not the only one in this video.
@@FTStratLP Your point about the cabin bags is very curious. I was only 3 years old in 1963 so not old enough to remember quite that far back, but at that time aircraft did not have overhead bins, only open hat racks for hats and coats, so all cabin baggage had to be placed under the seat in front of you.
One guy looked like Prince Rainier getting off the plane! 😮
@mrpeel3239 Hello. Was this at moment 4:15 ? If yes, an overweight prince Rainier.
Qual foi o equipamento que você usou para fazer esta telecinagem?
Brilliant thank you no pakkies carribeans or shifty Chinese to be seen here.
Ummmmmm, Aaron Rodgers time has passed,,, bottom line, he was terrible this game, timing was atrocious even on little 5 yard dump offs to his RB's, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. This is ALL Rodgers
Great to see it before it became Islamabad!
This was 60 years ago!!
Beautiful
All very nice & ENGLISH !!!
💋
Right time to be alive in London. No machetes, no shoplifting, no forced diversity. Not afraid 😳😳 of being robbed.......all the different 'manors' looked after by proper teams.
Great shot of the Ile de France passing. THANKS!
Those poor people. They must have really suffered from the lack of diversity back then.
Wonderful. No Muslims. We have given a thousand years of culture and liberal civilisation away
Where have all the native ethnic minorities gone?
