No John did not save her, how could he save her, he thought he did, otherwise Clyde would have held their mom captive. John would’ve done this if the actor who played him would have done this had he not passed away, the script was re written , because of John,s passing. John would have gone to Paris with Steve, Eric got his stepbrother Brady cleared of driving drunk and hitting,Sarah Horton. John was supposed to do that. So the whole entire story line was rewritten, because of Drake Hogesyn. That is my take on all of this.
