Loose Brushstrokes-Acrylic Time-lapse
มุมมอง 7254 ปีที่แล้ว
In this acrylic painting video, I focused on creating loose brushstrokes throughout the entire painting by using a larger than normal flat brush and being fairly loose with my strokes. I spent more time on the eye and nose using smaller brushes to keep those areas very detailed. I also used vibrant warm tones for the highlighted area and cooler tones for the shadows to give it a complimentary f...

Thank you for the wonderful demonstration of the difference between the two blacks.
Mam Is it ok if the base coat of the bird dries before we add the highlights with cardinal red light or it needs to be wet to be blended
Dried is best!
So beautiful! Thank you. ❤
Beautiful tutorial
wow, so beautiful
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! 🧐 I’ve got a question: 🤨 I have these words 🤨. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). What is this? 🤔
Beautiful!!! Thanks you
Do you do this over used canvases as well?
I haven't tried it over a used canvas. If you do try it, it will likely need to be sanded down really well so there are not any ridges remaining from the previous painting.
Looks great
Merveilleux. Tú me ayudas a pintar los pajaritos que estoy haciendo, aunque nunca tan realistas, como el tuyo.
Ok firstly I'm self taught and have been painting for maybe 5 years now and I haven't painted in atleast 7 months so this was a pretty good one to use to gwt back into it. I really liked the berries and the snow those were really fun to put together. I love your shading method with those especially! The picture overall I feel turned out pretty good have a few take aways to help it be a little easier to follow next time as I did watch it in 0.75😂 1. There were a few times you started painting and didn't say what colors you were using until you were almost done with a section so it was difficult to "paint along" I often had to rewind. Which wasn't terrible just tookme a little longer 2. I get why it hopped around so we could give areas a chance to dry but my paints kept drying when going back and forth 🥲 Thankfully I learned to use a very small amount. So maybe a heads up that you might not want to use a set palet but instead squeeze as you need. 3 I didn't have a couple colors you used specifically for the beak and it went very poorly unfortunately it just looked sooo off compared to the rest of the bird my yellows were not giving the same thing 😂. 4. The hardest part for me was actually the eye and the feet. My colors again did not look like yours. But you breezed past them pretty quickly so maybe a little slower on the tiny details that bring it together ❤️ Overall though really nice painting!
I've been having issues with prepping canvases+ it really started putting me off painting. So many people use brushes to gesso+for me the results w brushes were crap! This is genius!
Do you have a link to print out the outline you used?
Fantastic video. Tysm. Question: how do you clean the ruler after use?
What kind and size filbert did you use? Loved this video.
Can you apply gesso on a gesso board in this same way?
I really enjoy your explanations during the video
I love the way you teach and paint😊
i've just found your channel and subscribed, love this painting! 💜
"Gesso" ya know! This is VERY informative my dear!! I never thought of using the ruler...very good! Would it take a shorter time with a smaller canvas? ...because half my day is spent doing other stuff! Much love from good ol' Arkansas! Fun fact....sanding is good exercise too! Quite the workout!
This was super helpful as a first timer. Thank you!
Is sanding done after gesso has completely dried or during drying process of gesso??
After it has completely dried
Love this 😊
The ruler. Thanks.
The painting was so prettyyyyyy 😍I tried painting it too and it turned out so beautiful. Thank u so much for the simple tutorial and the supplies list, they really helped. Every little detail added to the beauty of the painting.💙

paint brushes? which brand and numbers? I love the brushes i see you using
great teacher thank you..i love how you explain what youre doing in simple foreward terms
Are different Geo fof a black canvas?
I want more detail with my paintings so will try some gesso
can we get a copy of your hand scetch
Headed to New Mexico for a little vacation. I’ll try to paint this. Looking forward to it for sure.
How would you suggest smoothing the gesso out on a 48x60 in canvas after spreading it with the pallet knife? I’ve never really used gesso before but I’ve had this giant canvas around for a while and I’ve finally decided what to do with it and I want the surface to be smoother, but a general yard stick won’t exactly fit for that size of canvas
For that size, I would either buy a long piece of thin metal or aluminum (48" long) or just use a large putty knife from Home Depot and apply it as smoothly as possible. And then sand each layer down smooth.
You can also use a foam roller to apply it to get it smoother.
Wonderful…more videos please!
Amazing fun to watch you paint!!! I learn alot! You are a very good painter, & also soo good at explaining why ,what & how!!! Thank you❤
I just watched the Cardinal with berries...I love your explanations of Push & Pull, explaining of colors, & why!!! You are very good at teaching! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!

please do not forget to show the bristles of the brush your using 🙏🙏🙏
Another one that is just beautiful. So glad you explained how to paint the snow. I'm working on a snow/branch/bird theme on my wall working on canvas' so this really helped me with snow placement and color. You are so talented!! Thank you for teaching us!!
Just wow!!!! So glad I found you today!!! Your art pieces are MASTER pieces. So beautiful!!! So detailed. Thank you so much for giving me so many pointers. I'm just beginning, so I'm excited to see all your work.
Would be nice to split a smaller canvas, go through the prep on one side and do a small abstract across the whole board to show the difference it makes. Just a thought. Nicely done video though. Very informative. Thank you.
Thank you very much for the gesso tutorial… I looked at your art work on your website and it is beautiful and stunning!! 🙏❤️🙏
