Skyrim - Ordinator - Trick Arrows Perk Guide
This video walks you through the Trick Arrows perk in the Ordinator perk overhaul mod for Skyrim. It adds in Ancient Nord Arrows (Freezing), Dwarven Arrows (Immolation), Elven Arrows (Maze), Orcish Arrows (Force), and Ebony Arrows (Death). They are much more powerful than the Arcane Archer Arrows pack Creation from the AE upgrade, so are worth perking into for a ranger or scout type character. I show you how to craft these arrows, demonstrate what each one does, and discuss some tactics to employ using each.

Skyrim Melee Combat Guide
มุมมอง 2.5Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Many have bemoaned Skyrim's melee combat system as overly simplistic, unengaging, or just bad. It was never going to be as responsive and stylish as something like Devil May Cry, or as polished and well-defined as a Souls game. But it is far from the attack-mashing stat-check that many accuse it of being. So many players seem to want to lower the difficulty and dive into combat head first swing...

Guess who just had a new play through idea?
Strange Brew -- Nightshade Sleeping Tree Sap Mora Tapinella The first and third items are easy. Sleeping tree sap you get from the sleeping tree camp, a giant camp on the plains west of Whiterun. And thanks for this guide, exactly what I was looking for!
Nice, glad it was useful! And I did not know about that Strange Brew recipe. Good info!
The JUMPING! Bro. So sick.
Right?? This build was so fun :)
Caught up. No problem with dropped frames, possibly a TH-cam issue, no? The battles only get tougher from here on.
It's great to know that the archive looks good! I have yet to go back through it. The live experience was not great, lol.
@carn114 This one felt your pain with the stream. I hope you heal quickly.
Do a video on all the mods you use in game please :)
So, let's see, at 800+ mods, that would be like a 30-hour video, lmao. Probably not gonna happen. But I do like putting out little guides here and there when I run into something interesting that hasn't been covered well already.
Crazy, I don't know anyone who presents ideas for Skyrim as well as you. Thief is one of my favorite classes, so much so that I hardly ever play anything else 😅 How much fun did you have with the Thief compared to other classes?
Thanks! I do my best to try to convey these concepts clearly :) As far as fun, I think that's the beauty of Skyrim, and why I have 5000+ hours in the game. Different builds can play extremely differently, keeping the experience fresh. The Thief, Mage, and Warrior all have things they do well, and I love them each. For the Thief, if I'm in the mood for a methodical but tense, and tactical experience, nothing beats this playstyle!
@carn114 Yes, Skyrim has a magic that rarely leaves me alone. Had a break because I got lost in Red Dead Redemption 2, but Skyrim is just Skyrim 😀 I wrote to you a long time ago about your agent and asked you whether a thief would follow at some point, thank you very much! I'm from Austria, Europe, the dialect-speaking brothers of the Germans 😀 and therefore have to help me with a translator because my English is unfortunately not that good anymore. I have 2 questions for you please. 1. Do you always play with the classic class mod or sometimes without it? I also use a mod like this because I miss the classes from Oblivion, but I often have the feeling that when I use this mod I can level up too quickly, which means the enemies become strong very quickly. I often have to hold back on certain talents in order to avoid that. It's just that an RPG feels so empty without the classic class mod. I probably played Morrowind and Oblivion for too long. I'll write the second question next time, otherwise the translator will be overwhelmed 😅 I look forward to your opinion!
Hello, my Austrian friend :) Sorry if I've missed a comment in the past, TH-cam tends to hide replies to existing comments, and makes them hard to find. I pretty much always play with Classic Classes and Birthsigns Reimagined. I think it does such a good job of directing and reinforcing class-centric gameplay throughout the playthrough. And class-centric gameplay is how you get more out of this game after 13 years. The only complaint I have is that it feels too easy early on, if you're focusing your build correctly. But, if you also have Wildcat installed, you can make the game much harder for yourself at any second, which have been doing regularly. You can also opt out of the class decisions at the beginning for even more of a challenge. But yes, I think I'll be using the mod for some time to come :)
@@carn114 Hey, thank you very much for your opinion and I will probably stick with the Classic Classes and Birthsigns mod. Personally, this gives me a better feeling of knowing what I am and has more depth. I only add minimal changes like with the thief, for example a few points in one-handed so that I can still defend myself properly with 2 daggers if the shadows don't hide me enough 😁 My second question is about the Battlemage, which will be my next playthrough once I'm done with the Thief. I've never understood why the internet is full of videos showing battlemage with heavy armor or why so many people advise you to play battlemage with heavy armor. I remember well that in Oblivion he only wore robes. People tend to talk about a sword mage and confuse it with a battle mage. Or did I miss something and that's how you usually play it in Skyrim? Maybe these are all people who don't know the predecessors like Oblivion and their class system. In any case, there are also several mods for heavy battle mage armor. To be honest, I'm confused by all of this now 😅 I once saw a video on YT from "PCoutcast" who played the battle magician in the classic way and said he was strong. How do you see the topic, have you ever played a battle mage and if so, what are your experiences with it?
You are correct, in The Elder Scrolls, the Battlemage traditionally does not wear armor, just robes. The Spellsword is quite similar, and *does* wear heavy armor, and is more technically what many of these people are playing. Battlemages do exist outside of The Elder Scrolls universe, though, and I think they typically do wear armor in other universes, which I'm guessing is where most of these people are getting this impression. I wouldn't say it's *wrong*, as Skyrim has an open class system, and you can play any way you like, and call it whatever you want. But, if you want to be an Elder Scrolls purist, Spellsword wears armor, Battlemage does not.
I'd save your space to plant grass pod's and white cap's and mora tapinella the other ingredients are so easy to get as its not really necessary to plant them. grass pods for alteration white cap for magic regen and mora tapinella for stamina regen
Good call, while the grass pods can be easily obtained on the northern coastline, it makes sense to farm them at home if you're going to use lots of them as a mage.
The body may be frozen into place but the AI does still move around. There is a spell in Glamoril that freezes a target in place and the AI will still be running around.
@codypillman ok, thanks, glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing it. I've seen it in other spells too
I've noticed floating trees in the background, like faraway textures. They're just floating in the air. I've been trying to get rid of them for ages and I thought this would work but it hasn't. For some reason, the RefID couldn't be found? I still haven't been able to remove them
@ScrollsofGlory yeah, that's more likely an LOD issue. If you're running Dyndolod, might want to try regenerate those. This wouldn't help for those.
@@carn114 Am I able to do that without breaking things? I've got mods installed and I'm terrified of it just completely breaking. I'm not really sure how
@@ScrollsofGlory I don't really have a simple answer for you, because DynDOLOD does touch more than you might expect. However, simply regenerating the LOD files *should* be fine. Unfortunately, this is the dark side of modding, lol.
It says 5 wild shrines for me in the alt tree, please help dawg lol idk where they are all at or are these the 5 wild shrines?
Yeah, this video shows where they all are. Same shrines mentioned in the perk.
@ actual legend
@@jahniyaavila3348 lol, well I try
I’m so happy you mentioned the mora tapinella + imp stool + canis root poison. It’s been my favorite ever since I found out about it
Yep, super useful, and you can sell it for a huge profit. Team tapimpcan!
Aspect of the bear/wolf will go perfect for my next werebear/werewolf play through
It'd go well with the playstyle, too, not just naming flare.
Okay, so i cant find anyrhinf anywhere so ill ask here, is there any way to regain favor in herm abandon me?
I honestly haven't had any issues with favor, so I never encountered this. I'm guessing, though, that you can just go back to the shrine to reaquire him, although you'll have to start over. If that doesn't work, I'd try taking on another diety for a bit, and then try re-active the Mora shrine.
Hey man, what mod puts the shield on your back for PC?
There are a few ways to do it, but I use the All Geared Up Derivative (AllGUD) mod. Takes a good amount of setup if you have alot of modded weapons and shields. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/28833 The best way to do it now is with Immersive Equipment Displays (IED). It doesn't require mesh generation or anything else, and it has an in-game pop-up to manage positions. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/62001
Does anyone remember what mod you can get the Hermaeus Mora Bow from? It knocks people back with tentacles when you shoot them
I've never heard of it, but poked around a bit cuz it sounds awesome. But I wasn't able to find anything, except for a mention or two. Hopefully someone sees this and can answer!
Man these are so helpful. I’m always surprised how many perks I’ve not done a full deep dive in until I watch one of your tutorials. Also I dig the music.
Glad they're helpful! When I play, I'm always trying to keep an eye out for complicated things that I can explain for folks to get more out of the game. And of course you gotta rock out while sploding everything!
I know this video is three years old, but why can’t I find the Outcast Shen armor anywhere?
You can find it on the LE nexus here: www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/70241 For whatever reason, the mod author really didn't want it ported to SE, and had them removed when folks try to post them in the past. So, it needs to be self-upgraded to SE with the Creation Kit and NifSkope. PITA, but it is what it is, unfortunately...
Here's what the Dwarven Arrows look like: Nuclear Explosion Also, Maze is a D&D spell!
Lol, even having used these arrows regularly, some of them still surprise me once I'm focusing on them in a controlled environment. I didn't know that about D&D! I like all the little references to things Enai puts in his names for things.
Thanks for the video. I have used al the arrows except the Maze arrows as I could not see a scenario where I would use them. But watching your video I did think that a thief may use them. The others would be very useful playing a combat archer rather than a stealth archer. I have used the Arcane Archer Arrows for that but with a much larger area of effect on these arrows would be a bigger advantage.
Very welcome! Yes, I can see the Maze arrows being very useful for sneak-archery when you're not one-shotting enemies. The Arcane Archer arrows look very cool, and are pretty impressive visually when they hit, but *really* fall off in terms of power early on in a playthrough, so usually feel disappointing to use. These ones just scale so much better.
Any idea how this spell responds to Vancian Magic? Running out of magicka is just not going to happen
Well, first a disclaimer, since I don't want to spread false info, lol. I'm not 100% sure, but I did research this over a year ago, and I *think* what I *vaguely* remember was that the mana drain was a scripted effect that overrode Vancian's obstinate magicka bar. But, that scripted effect is overridden by active effects from potions and enchantments. Vancian is not a bad call for the Druid, because of all the channeled summons. You just have to be careful not to chew through all of your spells. You can always rely on werewolf form to get around that, though, if you spec into that as well. Sorry, I'd test this for you, but I no longer have this save available :(
I wish ordinator also added a few trick bolts for crossbow lovers. I know they already have the exploding bolts in the three elemental flavors and the corkbulb one from rare curios, but there's just way too much extra stuff for arrows compared to bolts
The poor old crossbow does tend to be underserved in Skyrim. I don't use it much myself, preferring the the bow for the stealth archer, but still the crossbowman should have access to them.
Yeah, it seems that crossbows are a bit neglected in Ordinator. But, outside of Ordinator, crossbows have some pretty big advantages of their own. They have higher damage numbers than bows of the same material, and ignore armor (50% IIRC). Also, if you have a dodge mod like TK Dodge installed, you can cancel the reload animation with a roll, and be ready to shoot again very quickly. You can also buff them through the roof with crafting skills on top of all that.
So you could fairly easily use two-handed sword animations for katanas using the vanilla animations--just switching out the one handed for the two handed. Nifty...
I haven't tried it, but this would probably result in changing the whole weapon type to 1-handed, just using the 2-handed weapon model. It should work, but might not be exactly the result you're looking for. The better solution to this might be to use PCEA (Player Character Exclusive Animation) and drop the 1H animations into a profile folder, renamed for the 2H filenames.
thanks bro
You got it, glad it helped!
If you folks want some alternatives for the combat then I recommend Blade and Blunt. B&B is a Simonrim combat overhaul but it functions standalone and is pretty customizable, such as changing how stamina works (to make it play nice with Ordinator or Vokrii) or injuries. It adds a lot of cool things like attacks of opportunity (extra damage against somebody attacking somebody, it makes charging down Mages viable and makes face tanking Mages want to use wards since wards disable AoO), timed block and parries (parries are one handed no shield blocks that can disable a enemy if timed right), and injuries (The injuries aren’t nearly as debilitating as Wildcat but I prefer that since that can be annoying for the player and super easy for the enemies.) Plus Wildcat is ancient and uses cloak scripts whilst B&B is much newer and a lot cleaner. Wildcat is a icon for a reason but B&B is a great alternative
Yeah, SimonRim is quality. We all have our preferences, but there is room for both. The mods aren't always compatible with the Enai-Rim, but some are. And choice is never a bad thing!
@ My list is a mix of both and I am having lots of fun. I am waiting for Vokord to change some of its armor perks but I am getting the itch to play a bit more lol
