So insightful and rich , so personal and yet much needed! Thank you for sharing your story , it's clear that you're an amazing mum who's selfless commitment and love for your precious child is paying off. You will continue to develop the strategies and skills to help your child navigate this rather unaccepting society and he will surely live an independent and fulfilled life. Well spoken too I like your calm approach so needed for your child. I however hope that you're priorotising your wellbeing and celebrating small wins. Keep advocating, keep pushing and keep being a role model to your child and the rest of the world.

When you grow up with smacking as part of your culture/tradition, you see nothing wrong with it. Teachers were allowed to correct you with the cane, and the bible was used to justify this. For me, I didn't like it as a child, so I went the other way, and if I felt there was wilful defiance, I punished without being physical in the majority of cases. I think everyone has to relearn. As the speaker says, would you hit an adult to make your point?

We have stop comparing democracy in the west to Africa would you compare a thief who stole from you to yourself with morals and values we need to wake up and smell the coffee and realise democracy is a myth its all about control and we as Ghanaians have seen a coup happened before and i hope it happens again and the people not for an answer from some God in the sky given to us centuries ago we are the answer we are the prayer not on our hands and knees as God has given us everything we need much love to all Ghanaians in Ghana and across the world we can take lessons from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger we have our path right there no political Party in Ghana deserve our vote.
