Thank you for this detailed description . You have clarified my sense of how much the terms have changed and now are defined by the DSM . I am hopeful that scientific improvements can now eliminate drug experiments based on DNA tests . And that one day we will all know what chemicals we need to be balanced. Thank you .
In accordance with the table presented by Dr. McIntyre, I would characterize my major depression as having been in stage 3. I was completely disabled and struggled since childhood. I would say I am in full remission. I am uncertain if I were to say I have "full functioning recovery" (I don't have a baseline to compare it to). I do notice differences in memory between myself and others. Always appreciate Dr.McIntyre's articulate nature and presentations. Thank you for creating this channel.
He doesn't talk about when a patient been on every medication but can't handle them or they don't work. How is he going to treat one who has been on everything and nothing works? Completely useless video. It's easy to say these meds work. Never talk about how bad the side effects are from Activation, Insomnia, Zombie state, extreme weight gain , extreme sedation all day.
Thanks for the video
Does Erectodom Secrets really help to achieve total control over your erectile dysfunction? I have read numerous good things about this popular erectile dysfunction natural treatment.
The more I listen to this, the more sense it makes as far da what I’ve seen clinically. I think a really good review of the known studies would be great. Sifting through what has already been found might be helpful at this point.
this is not a 'phenomenology' of depression at all.
Have ADHD being not productive but i relly want to getting punished by "motivation enhancing poverty" (not working) and depression because im stuck, and im figting with overweight but losing weight means training mood for caloriedeficit and then I will crash and it gets worse

I know this is probably just a 'for my students' video, but as someone who thinks they're possibly bipolar-ish it's very informative. I picked up somewhere that eczema is linked to mood disorders chromosomally? Might be similar inflammation stuff. Cool man.
The best of the best and the brightest doctors in the field...(I've been a grateful patient for 3+ years)
How do you afford him
When a placebo outperforms or a study doesn’t pan out as expected he determines it’s obviously flawed. Boy... how convenient for him.. And how profoundly unscientific an attitude (conveniently shared by most of his colleagues who know exactly what side their bread is buttered on). Sadly, this is precisely an example of why psychiatry is held in increasingly low regard by intelligent people and even the lay public.
Dr. Yatham is a legend in mood disorders. Stop downgrading him. Stop spreading myths.
I dislike viewing my son entering depression so I researched and discovered remedy “fetching kafon press” (Google it) and my son was utilizing it for many months. Before he did not love life but after reading through it he is now joyful and more healthy. It is like he is someone else now..
Every version of DSM is subjective propaganda filled with stigma and stereotypes. Psychology/psychiatry is pseudoscience, and only one of many reasons I have for agreeing with Milton Friedman regarding no licensure of physicians. "Better a murder than a misdiagnosis." -- House
