Love the Pink stole but……..
Awwe. Your young tamborinist did a great job! Reminds me of when I had a pint-sized shadow in choir, though he wasn't playing anything.
Beautiful service!
Beautiful…mad at me for not attending
Christ is risen!! He is risen indeed, Alleluia!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, Tim and family!
Merry Christmas!
Same to you!
For his Angelus today Pope Francis from St. Peter's Square narrates the parable contained in the Gospel of Matthew 22, 1-14, in which it is told of a king who organizes a wedding banquet for his son, but none of the guests shows up, despite he sent for them twice, they are all busy with other things and not interested. Thus Francis explains that God also calls us to a "feast of love and communion around his only begotten Son", but we too often ignore it. Continuing the story we hear that the king then sends his servants to call all those who are on the street corners, the excluded, the marginalized, exactly as God calls all of us, good and bad "no one is excluded from the house of God". The same, the pontiff says, should do the Church which "is called to reach [...] the geographical and existential peripheries of humanity, those places on the margins, those situations in which they find themselves encamped and live shreds of humanity without hope" without "settling on the comfortable and usual ways of evangelization and witness to charity, but of opening the doors of our hearts and of our communities to everyone, because the Gospel is not reserved for a select few". But there is a condition to follow. The king makes a cape available to the guests, a gift, excluding a man who refuses to wear it, showing that he does not give weight to the invitation received as if he did not need anything, exactly as God gives us grace free of charge: "Without grace one cannot take a step forward in the Christian life. Everything is grace. It is not enough to accept the invitation to follow the Lord, it is necessary to be available for a journey of conversion, which changes the heart. "
