I finally got around to trying this method on a big Northwoods lake, with slider heads I bought long years ago. I pulled three Largemouth Bass off of a downed tree in short order, no snags. I'm a believer. :-)

I like fishing the slider technique except when it’s even a bit windy. If I can’t feel it, I can’t fish it. Likewise, when there is a strong glare on the water or I otherwise can’t see my line. I can’t fish it if I can’t see my line.

In other words, Texas rig it.

Several years ago my brother and I were fishing in this same spot. It was just before daylight. My brother saw something floating and thought it was a dead beaver. As we got closer I told my brother it was a man. He called 911 and search and recovery came. Took them about an hour to get there. Later the newspaper said the 40 some year old man hah jumped off the dam. So sad for the man’s parents

So, in open water I can use the exposed hook, and in cover use the covered hook ? Wow ! Thanks, I never could've figured that out.

One of the Greats of the fishing world. The Father of finesse fishing! I've caught largemouth, smallmouth, spots, stripers, white bass, crappie, bluegill, snook, reds and speckled trout, and freshwater drum, all on slider products. Fun fishing!!

Best jigs ever!! I have always just used hook and worm for panfish but after discovering these I dont remember the last time I used a live worm. Crappie, bluegill, sunfish, perch, bass they all destroy it.

“Sweeping the hook” looks like a pretty hard hook set to me. Love these old videos and seeing how far fishing has evolved.

I used these up until the last decade in ponds and you can catch them on most casts, I switched to Pro spider slider heads because I lost several big fish on the wire hooks.
