How to Design Relay Card Using Rasberry Pi PICO | Tutorial for Beginers | Learn KiCAD (Simplified)
"A relay card used with a Raspberry Pi Pico extends its functionality by enabling the control of high-power electrical devices that require voltages or currents beyond what the Pico's GPIO pins can directly handle. Typically, relay cards feature multiple relays, each capable of switching circuits on or off in response to signals from the Pico. These relays act as electrically controlled switches, isolating the low-voltage control signals from the high-power circuits they control.
The Raspberry Pi Pico communicates with the relay card through its GPIO pins, sending signals that energize or de-energize individual relays. This capability allows the Pico to control a wide range of external devices, including appliances, lights, pumps, motors, and other industrial or home automation equipment.
In practical terms, integrating a relay card with the Pico involves connecting the GPIO pins to the control inputs of the relays and ensuring appropriate power supplies are provided to both the Pico and the relay card. Programming the Pico to manage the relays involves writing code that toggles GPIO pins high or low based on desired operational logic, such as time schedules, sensor inputs, or user commands received via networks like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Moreover, relay cards often include features like optocouplers or other isolation methods to protect the Raspberry Pi Pico from potential electrical noise or voltage spikes originating from the high-power circuits. This protection is crucial for maintaining the stability and longevity of the Pico and ensures reliable operation in diverse applications.
Overall, the combination of a Raspberry Pi Pico with a relay card offers a flexible and cost-effective solution for implementing IoT projects, home automation systems, smart agriculture setups, and various industrial control applications. It leverages the Pico's computational capabilities with the relay card's robust switching capability, making it suitable for both hobbyists and professional engineers looking to create sophisticated electronic systems."

Thank you so much for this tutorial your work in really valuable
Amazing channel, thank you for making this.
Good work.
This video helps me a lot
Thank you Sir
Are those through holes? How do I find them in KiCAD? And why are there small holes added?
In the schematic you can add a mounting hole with a pad, and then select M series pads in footprint.
Can you please the use of this board
why is this inductor so far away from the driver? no filtering no anything. i bet it would ring like crazy even without any load. nice beginning to electronics but i would not call it a tutorial since electronics is more than this simple design.
I started yesterday and I am struggling to make a simple pcb for a personal project. How do you make so many track whidout one touching others?
Commenting so I'll learn the answer too
hello,we are pcb and pcba manufacturer, are you interested?
Youre the greatest. Respect.
very good and helpful video Thanks
Thank you so much for this! I was a bit stuck on a project and this really helped me
Excellent Kicad logo information. 😎 Thank you.
Thank you bro!
thank you for the tutorial, might take a military guy but it reminds me of the 82nd Airborne logo :)
You are a saviour
how many layers u have used ?
Bro. That's so crazy. Is it perhaps, an atmega328 along with an STM32/NXP i.MX series? Interesting how you used the full pinout of USB-C, is the larger IC capable of USB 3.0? Or is it for USB PD? I don't know. The SOIC-8 package I'm guessing is a flash/PSRAM chip though.
I don't know why, but I want to guess what all of your designs are using. Is that a ESP32-WROOM, with USBLC6-2P6 ESD protection for the USB-C port?
stm32?
W
Dang dude. The via stitching goes crazy 🔥
Is that an STM32? cool design, btw!
Yes
Daaanggg! Here I was thinking that my ESP32 board was complicated 😂
Upload as full video for tutorial purpose
😪 *Promo sm*
Can anyone tell me why the size of my image is shown in the Bitmap to Component Convertor but there is no way of changing it ! I don't have the size dialogue box shown in this video. I also don't have the Export to Clipboard option only Load Bitmap and Export ! Anyone any suggestions ?
Please uncheck the tick mark in the Output Size menu (Remove tick mark from Lock height / width ratio).
Sometimes this happens when you upload directly, the simple solution is just open the image in the microsoft paint and save it after that try to load into the Image converter. It shall work.
@@AmazingAutomation Thanks. I was on an older version of KiCAD. I upgraded to the latest version but the KiCAD Bitmap convertor tool was still a bit hit and miss. I moved to Paint and had to reduce my logo by a factor of 8 in both the x and y plane. As a png it seemed to reduce OK in Paint with all the detail present but when I went to bring it on to the PCB the detail was not reproduced - the image and the words making up the logo were both distorted. It is a bit disappointing as right now I do not have any particular idea as to the reason !
Thank you for explaining all of that. You made it all make perfect sense -- i even managed to put a logo on one of my boards.
Fantastic!
Very good, Great Tutorial
Very neat and placement are clean 👏
I need to know what it is and what it's for
ICEZUM Alhambra, it’s an FPGA dev board with an Arduino form factor.
can you share this pcb?
I am requesting for a video
That tool is very good, I really want to learn how to use it thoroughly and start creating projects. But... I still have a lot to learn, both in theory and in analysis itself, I hope to achieve it and that your channel grows a lot.
Sure, if you want any specific topic. Please let me know
@@AmazingAutomation Which ic did you use for dc dc converter to step down voltage that is actually available in kicad
That is so wonderful and an amazing PBC desing :0
Does the logo comes out made out of copper when you get the PCB from the manufacturer? that's what I'm looking to make, the logo made with copper on the PCB.
Yes, it is possible. If you want then I can make a small tutorial on the same.
What is it?
An arruino nano
@@vinicus508 nah bro. It's an STM32 I think.
@@h1tecis that so? I see. By looking at the ports it does indeed look like something other than a Arduino nano
@@vinicus508 the creator of the video replied to one of my comments, it is, in fact, an STM32 (indicated by SWD port)
Excellent bro
thank you brother.
Make a tutorial on this
You are doing a great job. Helping out young engineers and professionals. Keep up the good work. You will reach heights for sure❤🎉🎉. Thank you for your videos.
Amazing Keep it up.
We are working on a project of developing some level measurement for filling station storage tank. Do you have any reference for OEM R & D development company
No, Sorry.
Cheers mate, that was useful
Yup, it is. Thank you for the response.
Hello what is this for what can u share shematics with me
hello, did you get the answer to your question ?
@@MedicalStudentChannel not yet pff 😭
@@MedicalStudentChannel u have ?
@@ceyhunyilmz3197 no but I am trying to make my own PCB, I want to create a PCB for my own oximeter (before I used arduino)
@@MedicalStudentChannelwas about to ask the same 😂Do y’all know any schematics I can find to make a new pcb?
Can You Provide me this PCB circuit diagram in pdf format...pls
Yes, this is an open source project from github.
I want pcb
Can you please share link?@@AmazingAutomation
Hey Bro
Please search the same in github you will get the same and many other alternatives also.
