Welcome - this is a collection of videos that I've captured on planes I've built. After many years away from the hobby, I got the bug to convert my older nitro planes to electric.
Hopefully this is interesting to others - happy to share up-close videos of the configurations, motor/battery/ESC configuration, etc.

LT Kadet RubyFPV and OpenIPC Test #2
มุมมอง 97หลายเดือนก่อน
Second official flight with my lab plane (Kadet) and the RubyFPV setup. Difference between first flight and this one is the use of two wifi adapters on the ground - one with a cloverleaf and the other with two patch antennas. I'm still learning, but want to share this amazing platform with others.

Taking the plunge into digital video. This is the first 'official' flight of the Kadet (my lab plane) with the RunCam Wifi air unit and Radxa ground station. I am still learning this configuration (including how best to optimize antennas, etc.) but thought this could be a useful video to share.
Albabird Test Flight Series - YIKES!
มุมมอง 568 หลายเดือนก่อน
Third official flight of the Albabird, and purpose here was to do additional AutoTune (setting PIDs) and start a simple waypoint mission with a large loiter. All went well, with one exception - a YIKES! moment between auto and autotune flight modes. Still looking at the cause.
Albabird Test Flight 1
มุมมอง 648 หลายเดือนก่อน
Fantastic plane and first 'tuned' flight with Airspeed enabled. Wanted to feature AUTO flight (take-off and loiter) to understand throttle management as well as CRUISE flight mode to see the same (for altitude hold and throttle management).
Albabird First 'official' flight
มุมมอง 938 หลายเดือนก่อน
What a blast - my first twin prop aircraft. Very, very basic flight to work out and tune the airframe. Set auto take-off and cruise.
Early morning Sunrise with the MiniTalon
มุมมอง 175ปีที่แล้ว
Today was nothing short of amazing. Great to get into the air and capture the rising sun out over Joyce Park. Most of the flight is in autonomous, with the exception of landing in FBWA and a quick test of loiter at altitude.
Heartland HTC Demonstration Flight
มุมมอง 80ปีที่แล้ว
Blessed to demonstrate autonomous flight to the Rangers HTC group. This is a simple flight with four waypoints. Automated take-off and then a 3 turn loiter at 450 feet.
MiniTalon Corridor flights
มุมมอง 862 ปีที่แล้ว
Another in a series of MiniTalon flights. Corridor flight plan, including a mid-flight intervention for a full scale aircraft. Hot day, high humidity, and a little bumpy flight. Runcam did a good job of stability. Music credits to Pixabay for Lesfm and others. Check out Pixabay for details.
Early Morning MiniTalon Flight in the fog
มุมมอง 653 ปีที่แล้ว
What a joy it is to get this aircraft into the air on a morning like this one. Just after sunrise, the MiniTalon flew its regular route along the river and Joyce Park. Fog was just starting to burn off. All electronics did well except the airspeed sensor which had to reset its ratio three times in flight. Enjoy!
MiniTalon Saga - Foggy Flight 2
มุมมอง 53 ปีที่แล้ว
A longer flight to capture more of the sunrise and fog as well test duration. Testing a loiter pattern with a large (greater than 800 ft) radius.
MiniTalon Saga - Foggy Flight
มุมมอง 723 ปีที่แล้ว
Something wonderful about a sunrise flight with lingering fog. This flight had waypoints designed to capture both the fog, sunrise and a perspective difficult at ground level. Was also able to test out equipment, including updates to Arduplane, my MinimOSD and flight duration. Very pleased with the power consumption on my 3.6 amp 4 cell.
Eachine Ex4 Pro Flight and Video Test
มุมมอง 3423 ปีที่แล้ว
First flight of Ex4 Pro with GPS shielding and open field test. Note the stability (and jello) of the video.
MiniTalon New Survey Flights
มุมมอง 64 ปีที่แล้ว
Early morning flight at Joyce Park in Fairfield, Ohio. Survey of additional elements in the park, including the old flying field and river.

a lot of red bars. I don't think this is normal.
Looks like it needs some tweaking that's for sure, seen better analogue video feed but all the best with it, upgraded antenna's would help greatly. But with the standard antenna's it's very decent image.
Thanks. Using Lollipop 5.8G 2.6dBi Super Mini RHCP Antenna on run cam and two wifi adapters on the ground station. One with a patch antenna and the other with a rhcp clover.
What camera?
Runcam mini split 4K
Stop the crappy music!
Thanks for the comment - always trying new license / royalty free music on these videos.
cool video, aaron, love the fog and watching the plane landing from the drone's viewpoint!
Thanks Brad.
What running gear are you using? Your power consumption is incredible. I'm pulling around 5-6a to maintain level flight, around 1300g AUW
I have 4 cell Venom 3.6 amp battery driving the Cobra 2221/12-1250kv motor. Pixracer + GPS, airspeed sensor and LIDAR. I have a separate 950
@@nitro2electric799 Very nice, sounds like a great setup
@@thomasb1205 Thanks - The MiniTalon is a great platform. Took some bumps and bruises to get it stable, but over the past two years it has been a steady, go-to fixed wing to enjoy.

hello, very good drone, the best in its category, I had it, never had a problem with it, we must above all wait, to have enough gps to take off, and to have a good smartphone
Nice smooth flight, what OSD is that? I'm in the process of setting up my extended wing Mini Talon with Ardupilot using the new Matek H743 FC.
Thanks - the telem overlay is added after the flight video is captured, and use Dashware and the Arduplane BIN to CSV converter from MissionPlanner to assist in the conversion. For a FPV OSD, I use Aeromax running MWOSD and am able to watch the flight across 5.8 GHz.
Nice!! Your plane is quite efficient. What motor, prop and battery? What's your All Up Weight? Thanks.
Amit - I use a Cobra C-2221-16 motor with an APCe 9x6 prop and either a 3200 mAh or 3600 mAh Venom power 4 cell.. I'll have to weigh the MT again since I've mixed up a bit with a new front end, etc. and let you know what the AUW is. Thanks for asking!
@@nitro2electric799 Thanks a lot for the info my friend!!
Wow! The HD camera looks fantastic, and I love the instrument readout overlay. Very nice, man!
Thanks Tim - hoping to make these landings better each flight!
Oh no man, was it badly damaged?
No major damage - had to reglue the left wing to the fuse and reattach the motor mount to the rear.
Nice video...What analog FPV camera are you using?
I'm using a Foxeer Legend 1 as the HD camera, and a Runcam Eagle 2 for the FPV. I have my laptop receive the FPV signal and record it.
Nice video!! What motor and what propeller? Thanks.
Thanks - I use a Cobra C-2221/16 940Kv motor with a APCe 9x6 prop. This has been a rock solid combo.
Nice flying buddy cool location sub me back 👍🤟👍
Thanks - enjoy the videos.
Nice work! What motor, battery, esc, prop did you use?
