Thank you for the informative webinar. I found it particularly interesting to learn about the integration of the FlowFuse Device Agent with the NCD io Enterprise IIoT Gateway. Your insights were greatly appreciated.
is there per flow permissions? as in, do you cover the scenario of allowing access to a flow to only one user?
Node-RED's permission model doesn't extend to individual flows - so not something we currently support.
Amazing demo
Hi is it not possible to access node-red that is running on a edge device through flowfuse (on docker local server)
Hi! To better assist you, could you please let us know if you're using the open source version of FlowFuse? If you are using the open source version, it's important to note that edge development features are not included. You can find more details on this in our pricing page: flowfuse.com/pricing/?hosting=self-hosted#:~:text=Device%20Management-,Edge%20Development,-Device%20Group%20Management
Hi sir . How can i give json data through rest api call using the http in and how to parse that data to the table in the template node.
Hi. It is a little unclear what you are trying to achieve. I say that because there is built-in 2 way communication possible between dashboard and node-red without having to create endpoints (thats what the http-in node does) and make requests via ajax or fetch. However, if you mean you want to get data from an external API (HTTP-Request node) and transmit that to a ui-table, then this certainly is possible and quite simple. I am happy to provide a demo but I will wait for your response to clarify requirements. also, these sort of questions are much better suited to the official Node-RED forum.
can you share the examples flows?

Hello from Brazil! I’m a huge fan of your hard work. Thank you! I use node-red in my local small business.
It will be interesting to decode LoRaWAN MQTT base64 payload automatically using AI assistant. Is it possible?
It shouldn't be a problem, but like any ai model the code should be validated.

Can we have the json file which you are showing that demo
Do you have any course where we build industry apps from beginning to end? Thanks
Hi Joe , at 15:47, when i refresh the dashboard screen the mermaid chart is replaced with markdown code in the dashboard. why? - give it a try
HI Joe, 720p video does not offer much clarity for viewin
Thanks for letting us know, we've had that feedback from others too, and in the future, we'll be making sure it's higher resolution
Hi Joe, At 11:50, when we click on link icon in dashboard, a web url is open on the current dashboard page & if we want to back into dashboard, we have to click on back button. Can you modify it to open link on new tab?
Great demo, thanks for putting this together
I did, that, but for some reason i got the error RequestError: getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND when starting up an instance
Nvm, got it working. Debian 12 didn't have systemd-resolved installed. now it works
Hello. Is there any trick to make a dashboard multitouch compatible ? The main idea is to move sliders and buton simultaneously from an android tactile device. Thx for your ideas. Antoine
Hi Antoine, we spotted a similar question on the Node-RED forum: discourse.nodered.org/t/multitouch-dashboard/88798. Joe already replied there 😉. Hope this helps!
Is it possible to see the Q&A pod here in TH-cam?
Good stuff! can we get an updated version of this for dashboard 2.0 please? us beginners are left dangling with the absence of beginner tutorials for dashboard 2.0
Gentlemen, can we get a beginners tutorial with normal things, like text boxes that input text at the click of a button, or by themselves and then send it via a http request - you know, normal plain stuff that covers 90 percent of what we will ever need... Starting with a fuel gauge is way too advanced. There are no beginners tutorials for dashboard 2.0, there is one for dashboard 1, but of course everything is changed in 2.0, including the non-existence of /ui for the ui... v confusing. Lets walk before we run
Good Job , hope to work with those features very soon .
Stop zooming on everything. It becomes hard to see what you are selecting, for example at 1:16 is hard to see your click on the data generator
Great job you are doing guys, good luck with product development!❤
Thank you so much for your kind words and support, @pesetskyps! We're thrilled to hear you're enjoying our work. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and developments!
I had install the remote nod in my phone but it doesn' fonction with the db2 I have confegurated correctly it function with the node red dashboard and know when i install the db 2 dosn't fonction
Which "remote" node are you referring to here? Any nodes built for the original Node-RED Dashboard, will not work with Node-RED Dashboard 2.0
Can I download this NodeRED project somewhere to have alook around and play with it a bit ?
I don’t have it available currently, but I can share it in the near future. Most likely next week.
Excuse me, how can I style nodes such as buttons individually
Drop a UI template node on the canvas and set type to CSS. Example CSS for Template below. Then open up your button that you would like to be customized to the CSS enter styled-button in this case to match the CSS created in the template node. .styled-button { padding: 8px 16px; border-radius: 3px; background-image: linear-gradient(to right, #yourStartColor, #yourEndColor); /* Replace #yourStartColor and #yourEndColor with your desired colors */ border: none; color: white; display: inline-flex; justify-content: center; align-items: center; min-width: 7.5rem; cursor: pointer; }
Its possible to have 2 computers acessing the same dashboard, without one session interfering with the other? Because when i acess the dashboard in two differents browsers, when i do somethin in one screen the other see it as well
Hi @placidomuniz572 - that's what the FlowFuse Multi User plugin provides and is available in the "Team" and "Enterprise" tiers in FlowFuse. By default, in Dashboard 2.0, only "ui-control" and "ui-notification" allow for constraints to be defined such that traffic is sent to a specific Websocket (SocketIO) connection. With the plugin, you can configure this to apply for all node types, and rather than constrain it to a particular websocket, in fact constrain it to a specific user
Nice addition!
Could you share the complete flow code?
The flows can be found on the last slide of the webinar slides found here: flowfuse.com/webinars/2024/node-red-dashboard-multi-user/
Can we use nodered as an ethernet/IP device and have tags to be read externally by another device?
Great questions. The current nodes do not support Node-RED to function as a client but as a manager. This sounds like either a good application for MQTT or OPC. flows.nodered.org/node/node-red-contrib-opcua
*Clicks "cancel" instead of done everytime* "why is none of my stuff saving? That's very weird" 😂
I have issues with the db2 on mobile phones. Gauges and tables are crushed and clipping. Is there plans to have support for mobile devices?
We do have it as an open issue that we are tracking in github. Check this issue for more context and tracking. Commenting will help prioritize it and show urgency. github.com/FlowFuse/node-red-dashboard/issues/551
Thanks everyone that watched the Webinar!
Whoa this is revolutionary, amazing
Turn off the annoying background music please.
Not a very useful stream of consciousness.
a tutorial on how to develop a dashboard from scratch would be great.
Hi, thank you for this video. I have a couple questions. 1. How can I browse and return only the logic names of and OPC UA folder / tags items? 2. How can I unsubscribe to a tag item in an active flow after subscribing?
how to change password for authentication
Is there anything showing how to use variables passed to a subflow in a function node? Also, the debugger is great but i cant seem to get it working with my subflow, I have ALOT of nodes that could be replaced with just one subflow with some passed variables but I am struggling to find ANY documentation on how to do this. I also can't seem to find anything on how the subflow status node works. If anyone knows where I could find this i would be HUGELY grateful.
You said you will show us the result of js code and how it merge the arrays, but you never did. I want to see what format the chart work with. Docs sucks
Hi @solidfuel0 - thanks for the feedback. Just to check you're looking in the right place, the chart documentation is available here: dashboard.flowfuse.com/nodes/widgets/ui-chart.html#working-with-data If that still doesn't help - can you please raise a post on the Node-RED Forums, and share a little more detail on what you've tried, and then we (and the rest of the community) can help there: discourse.nodered.org/tag/dashboard-2
