I think that the bearing is more likely to be centre track than concave because it doesn't have the curved shape to centre the string right in the middle.

Mine should be in the mail tomorrow. I ordered the blue/pink fade, a Buddha Ceramic Whipple bearing (stainless steel w/ceramic balls), and some Buddha type R pads. I hope that I enjoy it as much as the Magic yoyo Y01 Node (also put a ceramic Whipple in it and it's been a great throw).

This Yo hella cool Yo, finger grind aint no lie, snappy bind make you want to whip and nay nay all night.
That hole is so it can accommodate the longer axle. This is one of my favorite magic yoyos. It can do fingerspins ok too which is surprising.
