How do I as an adult get accessed to see if I am ADHD and also can it be intergenerational 6:25
If you have a primary care physician, talk to them first. Some will do the assessments themselves and others will have specialists they refer to. If you do not, you should look for a local clinician who does assessments. These are generally psychologists, but some social workers and other licensed mental health professionals will do testing. Your county mental health department may be a resource too. ADHD is very much a genetic condition, so yes, it does run in families. It is very helpful to get a diagnosis - it's the most treatable mental health condition and the validation people feel with a diagnosis itself is meaningful. You got this! Look for clinicians near you today and get an appointment if you think you might have ADHD.

Do you have recommendations for pediatricians for child with inattentive adhd?
@@RaisingHalfaDozen Most pediatricians should be able to tell you if they manage ADHD or not. If they do not, they most likely have consultants they use.
That's a very clear explanation and useful tips, thank you.
