    { لُعِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَى لِسَانِ دَاوُودَ وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ ذَلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوْا وَكَانُوا يَعْتَدُونَ 💥۝ كَانُوا لَا يَتَنَاهَوْنَ عَنْ مُنْكَرٍ فَعَلُوهُ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ ۝ تَرَى كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ يَتَوَلَّوْنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَبِئْسَ مَا قَدَّمَتْ لَهُمْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ سَخِطَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَفِي الْعَذَابِ هُمْ خَالِدُونَ ۝ وَلَوْ كَانُوا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالنَّبِيِّ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَا اتَّخَذُوهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ وَلَكِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ [المائدة:78-81]. يُخبر تعالى أنَّه لعن الكافرين من بني إسرائيل من دهرٍ طويلٍ فيما أنزله على داود نبيه عليه الصلاة والسلام وعلى لسان عيسى ابن مريم،عليه الصلاة والسلام بسبب عصيانهم لله، واعتدائهم على خلقه. قال العوفي: عن ابن عباسٍ: لُعنوا في التَّوراة، والإنجيل، وفي الزبور، وفي الفرقان. ثم بيّن حالهم فيما كانوا يعتمدونه في زمانهم، فقال تعالى: كَانُوا لَا يَتَنَاهَوْنَ عَنْ مُنْكَرٍ فَعَلُوهُ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ أي: كان لا ينهى أحدٌ منهم أحدًا عن ارتكاب المآثم والمحارم، ثم ذمَّهم على ذلك؛ ليُحذر أن يُرتكب مثل الذي ارتكبوه، فقال: لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ.
