Bloated
I do this with my cat since they also don’t drink as much water as they do- he enjoys eating a lot more now and it makes chewing easier for him too- it’s honestly a good idea and very helpful/healthy for your cat or dog if you don’t wanna spend the money to buy softer/wet food for them :>
Is that a real service dog to handle physical tasks, or some BS emotional support dog? Looks like the later
My younger dog was fine eating regular dry food and then randomly he just wouldnt eat at all unless his foor had water in it
This can actually be harmful to your dog feeding it kibble and water at the same time. (Can cause bloat in certain breeds and a condition that essentially flips and twists up the stomach) Feed your dogs wet food guys or better yet raw meat these will help your dogs stay hydrated between digesting food and drinking water.
may be a similar thing for dogs too but with horses they wet the grain and feed so it expands and the gases escape outside in the bucket and not in their stomach.
We have a Dalmatian and we add water to his food every meal. I’m not sure why, just that the vet said to do it.
This shouldn't be controversial topic imo. One of my cat used to eat her kibble with water because it's more forgiving for her gum condition but my other two eat it dry no problem. We just had to figure out what they like best
🤣Oh my God, I almost died🐕🦺🤣🤣🤣
I love Augie so much he is so cute
Oh my gosh, he’s so cute
Little did he know?
People don’t understand that dogs are different and have different personalities. My large dog LOVES to guzzle water, but my little dog only drinks water at the bare minimum. On the other hand my small dog loves to eat but my big dog has to be encouraged to eat.
Like woman what is wrong with training a dog outside of a dog park?
Do your friends have a TH-cam account?
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH
My friend dog died because of water+dry food. He said , the hammock stomach got twisted. Not sure what's hammock belly is tbh, but that's what I heard
How my heart aches for the animals that get dealt hate instead of love, they are only animals… they’ve done nothing but follow their instincts and nature😔
People are calling out the owner for adding water but don't mention that most commercial dog food is really bad for dogs. 🤔
Some animals simply don't drink enough water, adding warm water to kibble (for cats or dogs) is a must in these situations
I don't really understand the problem to hydrate you dog? Its not like he can be "too much hydrated" or something like this. And if you decide to follow something on the media you should always cheque on Internet first.
Its not just a hydration thing it softens the food a little which is better for older dogs especially and theres a brand called gravy train i think which is designed to be given with water
My chihuahua is 10 years old has 17 teeth. He needs the water in his kibble 🤦♀️
I know this is about dogs, but we have to add water to our cat's food because he doesn't drink water by himself, and he actually had crystals and blood in his urine due to not drinking enough water. Idk if its the same with dogs, but if they dont drink water by themselves then this is probs the best way to keep them hydrated
Thanks Auggie I used to attend high school with a young Man that walked just like that / he was born with his legs deformed. He was a nice guy and extremely smart too.
People who worry about bloat so much don't let the kibble soak up the water before serving...
My buddies dog has bone cancer and it effects his mouth bad so he does this as well. If not the dog starts gushing 🩸 everywhere
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 are people this dense????????
my grandpa used to have a dog like a year or two ago and before she died, he would feed her twice a day and add a bit of water to her food. she was like 14 years old but her body was failing. rip tootsie
I understand complaining when someone puts their pet on a vegan diet but complaining about more water is silly. A fair amount of dogs have uric acid problems or something else that requires them to intake more water.
If I did this for my Mastiff, he would burp up a big mess. I prefer to fill with food only. My pupper would be hungry again after all that water. 6 lbs of food a day.. water on the side
This causes "bloat" in big dogs. It can kill them. Do your research before you invest in a companion
lol! Exactly!! My 7 month old puppy has small teeth and a big gap between her premolars and molars. Adding water makes it easier for her to eat. Every meal doesn't have to be a rubix cube!!😄👍
Kibble in general absorbs all the moisture so it would make sense to add water in it - otherwise it would suck the moisture from the stomach. And, our dogs hardly drink water anyways, so it is easier to put that water in to the food
Yep and puppy is all the healthier for it! Never gets the tummy bloat & it makes them eat slower too. Good job
When we adopted my dog from a rescue they told us to do that 😅
My dog will ONLY drink if it’s on her food, she refuses to drink otherwise and since I love my dog and don’t want her sick this is our compromise. You can’t force a dog to do something they’re not okay with and you can’t dehydrate a dog just because you don’t want to follow advice.
This. My dog is a diabetic alert dog. She does well but having people constantly come up to me not only BOTHERS me when I’m trying to grocery shop etc. but it can cause issues.
I gave my dog extra water too because this little bitch never drinks😂she wasn't neglected or anything btw we've had ever ever since she was like 7/8 weeks old😅. She just doesn't drink, she forgets, like me😅
Sorry but I can’t. Purina water there they won’t even eat. Even worse I’ll have to throw it out so it means wasting food.
was working with people on a husky farm a few times and they always gave the dogs that would be working (aka pulling sled) on that day a lot of water with only few kibbles. this ensured they wouldnt do this straining physical activity with a full and heavy belly. they got the rest of the kibble in the evening after all their work was done. :)
Amen
I do that with my cat too, he doesn't like to drink water by himself without assist, or someone watching, so I'd mix his tuna with some water. And please put clean water for your pets, and not tap water, cause my cat got kidney stones? Idk what its called in English. But he hot it from drinking tap water, cause of the chlorine.
I'd say this is why proper bureaucracy is important, why aren't there certificates for guide dogs? or at least a certificate that a person needs one
I always add water to my cats wet foods, likes it very much
"my dog is perfectly hydrated" good for you! This isn't your dog tho is it? Do you know it's drinking habits? 😮💨
Only issue is apparently putting water on kibble containing citric acid is bad for dogs prone to bloat.
How dare you invoke this girls moment
My shepard will only eat her food if it has water in it. I don't make it a soup but atleast to get most of the food wet. She refuses to eat it any other wat
I prefer to add up chicken broth rather than water...
