My goal is to share the joys and pitfalls of my pickleball journey. Join me as I embark on our pickleball journey!

basketball player winning an advanced MLP-styled tournament!! 🏆🥇
Eight captains came together to draft teams of four, each consisting of two men and two women. The tournament followed a format similar to Major League Pickleball (MLP), featuring rally scoring to 21.
Our team, Positive Energy, got its name because our captain works for Edison. Leading up to the tournament, we had two practice sessions before Black Friday, which really paid off and helped us perform well in our games!
Stay tuned for part 2 and part 3-I’ll post them once I finish editing!
Thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy the journey!

That’s what happens when you overthink and try to do too much !
That could totally be one of the reasons!
Hey! Great videos man, keep it up.
@@NoTodoEsArte1 thanks!! I appreciate that
lol you callin those shots out when they’re in
which ones? i gotta admit, i make mistakes too haha
So lovely. The vibes are awesome.
Thanks!
Both? 😂
Definitely both 🤣 dodging an out ball has become an essential skill in pickleball 🥹
You've got this!
It’s been a great journey tho. Meeting great people and learning from better players!
So much fun!
🫶
first two points def in bro u trippin
Very similar structure to Paul Lee (eelluap) videos
im gonna go check him out!
The only thing I don’t like about pickleball is how light the balls are
heavy balls would go waaaaay too fast, you'd never catch them
I agree with you. there are definitely faster travelling ones and it could get tough
at least it won't hurt as much if you get body bagged hahah
you keep hitting directly to your opponents, i think playing single is all about hitting winners.
@@saharatkaewpoka174 yeah I totally agree! I think I started to lose focus and control of my hits, probably from being in my own head + fatigue. Definitely need to drill that more especially not playing tennis before.
Not going up to the kitchen after the return. My dad does this and we’ve been working on it but everyday I have to remind him😂
HAHA what’s his reason for not coming up??
@@joepark.pickleball He honestly just forgets🤣 He also hits his returns like a drive rather than a running return so we’ve working on getting that to be muscle memory
Does he come from playing tennis??
Dude jumps around like an iPad kid
Without the crying 🤣
You coul've let the ball go out of bounds instead of hitting it
Yup, that’s why it was a dumb mistake of reacting to it 🤣
@joepark.pickleball oh wait, I didn't even see the first 3 seconds lol
🤣 its all good
If you stay at 3.0 for a few years then you’re a real 3.0, go up when you beat matches against higher players.
yeah, might try to player at a lower level next time
that first dude's body language just screams: "why did I even wake up this morning?" Maybe he was pissed about a couple of iffy out calls. But man was not loving life.
I was his second game and maybe he was just over it after his first game lol
alot of those calls should've been in lmao
I have been paying Pickleball for almost a year obsessively. I fell in love with singles over the summer. Start playing singles ONLY for about two months 15hrs a week. Heres my take away: Singles makes you a better pickleball player. A 3.0 can beat a 5.0. Because LOTS of pickleball players kill in doubles. But when I comes to Athleticism, the over weight 4.5 player will get SMOKED in singles by a 2.5 who has Mobility and speed on their side. After playing singles for that long, I returned to doubles and my shot placement and accuracy was increased dramatically. The court felt almost smaller. And I did notice I was being a ball hog a lot more. Singles also makes your back hand better. Dinking is so rare in singles.
lol def not
@@johnnyngo2377 explain why
hey! thanks for sharing your experience! I think there are definitely things that you could transfer singles skills to doubles and vice versa. However, singles and doubles are two different beasts with two different strategies.
@@joepark.pickleball I agree strategically difference, but it has help my doubles game a lot.
that's good! would you say your doubles game is improved from driving with better placements or more so with the kitchen plays?
First point, that ball was in.
lol
Ah you think so? It looked out from my perspective
Agreed
Dude made one shot and lost the point with it
Yeah I was definitely not ready for that and I popped it up 😢
Damn hook me up with your sister
Hmm not a player but advice from seeing this is that I think if you telegraph the slow swing less it will have significantly more of an effect.
Love the vids dude, keep it up 👍❤
Aw thanks! 🙏
Great play but 100% fault. Have to establish two feet outside of the kitchen before hitting. Foot was on the line, foot was lifted up as you were hitting it, then both feet were established.
100% agree with ya
But great heads up play!!! Let me know if you’re ever in Idaho! Love to meet up for a game!
I would love that! How is the community out there?
@@joepark.pickleballit’s really great and getting better! Lots and lots of public parks with more courts. One has 13. Two indoor facilities. Just need a few with lights for more evening games.
That’s fricken awesome!
thanks for the 2.5 game level highlight
Can we see your highlights?
Table tennis ❌ Lawn tennis ❌ Badminton ❌ Badmin tennis 🙂👍🏻
Something like that 🤣
Sounds like a cult of degeneracy
Pickle ball is tennis for people who don’t want to run
Haha do you play tennis?
More like focus on the girl? Oh really?
Hahah just one play 🤷🏻♂️
Whiffle tennis
🥸🥸🥸🥸
Would hate to be the guy in the bucket hat if this is how the majority of points went. Targeting in rec play is 🥴
Hahah if you look at my previous videos, it was definitely not targeting the girl. This is just one off example I guess 🤣
You guys don’t know what a backhand is hahahahahaha.
Hahah can you point where we wouldve needed to hit with a backhand??
get a job
I got a full time job. Thank you very much 🫡. Do you have a job?
@@joepark.pickleball yes and after work i don’t go play pickleball 💀. 🫡🫡
What are your hobbies after work?
@@joepark.pickleball i’m just fw u gang u seem like a chiller have a nice day
@@masoncrawford7472 yes sir!! you too my man
Judas Priest this stupid game
You should try it sometime 🫡
Not even close to 4.5 or 5.0.
I kind of agree with you. Ive actually got to play against 5.0 players and it was night and day!
Third shot was solid. Put you in position to get it
Yup! That angle by my partner was wild
Total chaos? Its pickleball. Old people ping pong
So is ping pong only for younger people then? 🤔
keep the feet planted
Hey great video, but there doesn’t seem to be any audio I see the song title and artist at the bottom which means it’s supposed to be there but it’s not playing. Just thought I’d let you know. Keep up the grind
Oh thank you for pointing that out!
The call is are these men?
Have you not SEEN the Meat Canyon video about the pickleball cult??? Get out while you still can!
Net support is considered a part of the court. Ball was out of bounds when it made contact with the support. Dead ball, no play over.
Why so much effort could just play temnis lol
Unfortunately, the tennis community isn’t as big where I live
Nice court 🔥
Thank you 🙏 its a friend of ours
Not even a real sport
Why not? 🙃
Low level bangers
What would you consider high level bangers? 😀
What a waste of space for these courts. 🤦♂️
you’re a waste of space jonathan
I’d say he could do whatever he wants with his space 🤣🫡
Scream? You mean them happy that they won the point?
Scream out of joy I guess 🤣
What’s that mean??
It means a ball from another court is coming onto your court. It neutralizes your game. They are mad because in this clip the last shot had a ton of front spin and may not have been returned. But the "ball on" nuetralized the play.
Explained perfectly 🤌🏻 *chef's kiss
7.H. After the serve, the ball contacts a player or anything the player is wearing or carrying, except the paddle or the player’s hand(s) in contact with the paddle and below the wrist. If the player is in the process of changing hands with both hands on the paddle or is attempting a two-handed stroke and either hand is hit below the wrist, as long as a player’s hand is in contact with the paddle, the ball is still in play.
Why does your partner keep backing up?
You know, I also realized that as I was editing. He comes from a tennis background so he might be more comfortable playing baseline or transition zone but not too sure!
