My little Stinky crawling. She's hyper, so isn't exactly smooth, but still cute ;)

Great little scene from a great little movie. Mac Sledge (Robert Duvall) teaches Sonny ( Allan Hubbard) a bit about guitar.
Remember that time at the French Communist Party?

Nice, France. July, 2008. While checking into our "backpackers hostel", which was really an old Frenchwoman's run down house maintained by her British man-servant, we were instructed to climb a mountain of stairs to go to the free "French Communist Party". Having nothing better to do we obliged. This is a small tidbit of the mayhem that ensued. This clearly stoned out of his mind man continued ...
I just hope Mr Duval it's not mixed up with any of that Hollywood bulshit I consider Kim one of the greatest actors of our time and I have a great deal of admiration for this music
One of the best "classic" movie of all time. With Robert Duvall a talented and best actor n Tess Harper n Allan Hubbard. He has one hell of a voice for singing n acting. I never get tired of watching this movie. My dad (RIP) loved watching movies from the 80's I'm glad I was introduced to one of many "classic" movies. To me they r classic n the best movies. 👍
This movie is a pass. The scene was fantastic.
One of my favorite movies ever.

You amazing bruce
What a fantastic movie.
Tess keeping time in the background too
I would never drink with a woman who wants to drink to world peace. It just means she is an uptight jerk.
Disgusting drink
Seamless, brilliant, masterful acting! I had a conversation with him in a Barnes & Noble once. Just a gracious no-bullsh*t guy.
Brilliant
Italians always drank sweet vermouth as a Digestive after a meal. I drink it all the time as well to appreciate the flavors
And the Oscar goes to Robert Duvall for his heartfelt authentically and accurate portrayal of Robert Duvall.
The greatest actor still living... lord have mercy I get chills watching this years later after the first time.
He has been in more movies than a hound dog has flies in July. Love the fellow.
Cinematic genius.
one of the top films of 1983
I love Tender Mercies and all involved in including all of who love it to.
Lovely..respect
This guitar was in history channels show gold and silver pawn shop the owner was asking for 10,000 dlls
Straight questions and answers.
The look on his face when he sips the drink! Such a great film.
Yeah. It shows he's never had it before and he's disgusted by it but trying to look as if he likes it. All that subtle nuance makes this scene. On top of the fact that Murray and director Harold Ramis didn't get along with each other makes this fascinating.
I d give Oscar just for that face play👏
I'd try this on my girlfriend a lot ;-)
best film
This is a great scene. It is hard to believe that Robert Duvall is a Hollywood actor and not really Mac Sledge. " A or A7th....D as in dog" I love that.
this reaction is priceless hahaha!
That guitar is a Gretsch Rancher, made popular by Gene Vincent's band the Blue Caps and coveted by Jeff Beck.
She asked what should they drink to, and when he offered a suggestion..."To the Groundhog!"...she shot him down with her own suggestion of "To world peace." So, why even ask him? Wow...that would be one difficult woman to please. No thanks.
Mark Adkins She was surprised they shared the same favourite drink as each other and wanted to know if they shared the same view to drink to.
I always thought this, too! What is her issue with his suggestion? It's a fine one! Light-hearted and between two coworkers, perfect.
I love this film and Rita has a very attractive personality in general but I always have the same feeling at this moment. I guess that, dramatically, it shows that he's come a cropper after doing so well so far. But it's a bit unreasonable of her.
Is Sweet Vermouth gross? Haha. Never tried it.
Its like wine but less tart and somewhat sweet. Not something you’d wanna drink straight all the time but makes a nice change of pace in my opinion. And goes wel in a Manhatten as well obviously.
Disgusting
This film is wonderful.
Just seen this film for the first time. Much deserved oscar for Bobby Duvall. Tess Harper also gives a fine performance, shades of this in her appearance in No country for old men
Can anyone ID the background music
That's clearly a lemon wedge, not a twist.
Who are the Robert Duvall's of this generation's movie stars? I can't think of a one.
cjpenning True, there can never be another.
cjpenning Well I’d say John Goodman is one. Both are very talented, somewhat well known by audiences. Always bring their game to a project whether that is a blockbuster or an indie
Where are the Tender Mercies of this generation? Films have changed and the requirements of acting for them has changed.
love this, and every second
...to the Groundhog!
nice :)
why is this happening to me?
i totally agree with you !
Love this film..one of my all time favorites....Duvall is amazing.
@itsareligionofpeace Lots of movies are like that. Not sure what you consider "regular," but given what I imagine your criteria to be, there's A River Runs Through It, You Can Count on Me, Million Dollar Baby, American Beauty, Brokeback Mountain (unless they're not "regular"), Cash (Johnny Cash isn't exactly regular but you might count it as such), of course It's a Wonderful Life...But can you name a movie about "regular Black Americans living real lives...presented w/ love & respect"?
splendid scene. Lord have mercy, that man is talented
AlphaCatholic Bob Duvall is only a close 2nd be hind JOHN WAYNE In my list of great actor's nits a pretty long list Mr Duvall is outstanding in everything he does
thumbs up if dexter brought you here!
@FriendofRamblinJack Darn right.
Wow I saw that movie. A very sad but nice movie , and nothing in it that couldnot happens in the real life !
